Petitions issued by HMRC seem to be reasonably common theme these days. Like the rest of us, clubs should make provisions to pay their taxes - they aren't a special case, although clearly some think they are.

It was only going to end this way eventually. I (and my mate) met Mr Hodgin last season during the 1874 Northwich home game and I asked him why an owner pours his money into a Non-League club and his answer was “I have no idea.” As he was from Manchester, lived in Manchester and supported Manchester City (and was actually about to be flying out to watch them in the Club World Cup) it made no sense as to why he was involved with Walsall Wood. Unfortunately despite a relatively successful few years with promotion and doing well at Step 4 the attendances at Walsall Wood have hardly grown at all so he’s flogging a dead horse and he’s probably just realised it.
