Surely the league should allow us to postpone the Avro away game now, just 3 days before the 1st round (2 days if our game is played on the Friday night for TV which I know won’t happen but is nevertheless a possibility).
I'd like to think so. There is more of a chance that our tie v Gainsboro will be played on the Sunday afternoon. The FA like to play a number of first round ties on Sundays for some reason which would really cock things up as we are due at Congleton on Tuesday 5th

Atherton Collieries at home brought forward from Tuesday 12th November to Saturday 26th October.
Normally this would be logical but with Avro away on the Wednesday and now this game in the week before one of the biggest games for years in the club’s history I can’t see the value. It may be of course that Bootle at home (the only league game currently without a date) will now be slotted in on Tuesday 12th November as they appear to be free but still proper rest and preparation for the FA Cup is more important at this time in my opinion when we have until the end of April to get league games played.

FA Cup is nice but the league is far more important we could be top after we beat Avro 6-1 away for our fourth consecutive league win

It is logical to play Atherton on the 26th, but equally I'd expect the league to postpone our game at Avro to allow us to prepare for Gainsboro. If this happens we have a clear 7 day period to get ready.
We now have a very big week of league games coming up. We are at home to two struggling sides and 6 points is essential and tomorrow we have to get something from Widnes.
If we can get 7 points at least then this will set us up nicely for a very busy November.
We have 6 weeks to reschedule the Bootle game so this really should be scheduled for mid-December.

How weird. JB was only advertising the coach to Avro on FB earlier today….
Absolutely the right decision though, if nothing else I don’t now have to choose going to the game or playing for my darts team….

Our away match against Hanley Town looks set to be played on Saturday 8th February as currently scheduled, now that Sky Sports have moved Stoke City’s home game against Middlesbrough to Friday 7th February.
