Nice set of fixtures. Plenty of matches to be rearranged due to our lengthy runs in the FA Cup and FA Trophy and a chance to win the title gloriously at Marston Road…

This is the 10th season in a row in which our first league game of the season has been at home since we last played away at Gainsborough Trinity in the 2014/15 season in the Vanarama Conference North. The previous 9 home openers were against Trafford, Redditch United, Needham Market, Stourbridge, Lowestoft Town, Scarborough Athletic, Ashton United, Spennymoor Town and Stalybridge Celtic.

There are no replays (or extra time) in the FA Trophy at any round (rule 10 a-d of the Rules of the FA Trophy Challenge competition).

Thanks for clarifying. It makes sense to play as many games as possible in the first couple of months before the bad weather kicks in and county cups raise their head. With our squad we should be able to cope with 2 games a week for quite a while yet and I'm happy to sacrifice county cups as we have to do well in the league this season

Unless I’m mistaken I believe the league want postponed games to be played within 6 weeks of the original date.

Stalybridge away is now Tuesday 15th October according to our fixture list on Footballwebpages.

This is provisional though as we could be involved in a FA Cup 4th qualifying round replay that midweek.

Avro away now Wednesday 30th October.

That’s all the currently outstanding fixtures arranged.

Our game at Congleton on 26th October will have to be rearranged. Avro are free on this date as they were due to be at Clitheroe who are also in the next round of the trophy. The most sensible thing to do would be to bring forward our game at Avro to the 26th.

This means we have 5 league games remaining in October which is more manageable - especially given our situation with injuries.

Clitheroe at home now 26th November. Just got to see what happens to Congleton and whether the AVro game is bought forward.

I get why the league wants to get games played early on in the season, but our season will be more or less half done when we get to the end of next month.

Even more reason to get some players in to cover those that will be out for presumably a few weeks

That's how it should be half done by Christmas

I have just had it confirmed that the Avro away game WILL NOT be moved to Saturday 26th October and will be played as currently scheduled on Wednesday 30th October.

Would imagine Avro would rather us go on the inconvenience of a Wednesday night rather than a straight forward Saturday. Perhaps Avro are of the opinion that our lads will have got a days work in before travelling for a night game. What they dont realise is that for a lot of our players playing for Hednesford IS their day job Let's wop em boys.

The reason I was given by Avro FC is that the pitch is unavailable to them on the Saturday.

I was referring to November as opposed to Christmas. At least with the Stalybridge game being cancelled we will only have played 19 league games by the end of November

There is scope for us to rearrange our home game vs Atherton for the 26th. THey won't want to come down to us on a Tuesday night in mid-November

Surely the league should allow us to postpone the Avro away game now, just 3 days before the 1st round (2 days if our game is played on the Friday night for TV which I know won’t happen but is nevertheless a possibility).

The view from our camp is that we want a day off on the 26th.
