Football Quiz Questions

Post by Glyn »

Just for fun - any football-related questions are welcome...

best if you can answer without googling, but that's entirely up to your conscience of course...

Easy one to start with - which football club plays at St James Park?

Exter City! ... and NOT Newcastle United as many might think - they have an apostrophe in their name (trust Glyn to pick one like that!)

I won't cheat by looking at who's playing there now.... but when Bristol Rovers were groundsharing there [with Bath City, who I would assume still play there?] we went to watch Walsall there, lots of Wadworths 6X consumed en route by most of the Saddlers fans one of whom was so relaxed his pals were having to hold him up as he queued to go in... happy days...

No trick....

scroll down to Coles Park. And try not to titter at those names which appear just above it...

Tottenham Hotspur's ground is, of course, in Tottenham High Road...

I was hoping someone would answer that - I heard it on the radio and that Burnley and Wolves were two of the answers.... but someone will have to tell me who the third is!

Next question - NO GOOGLING! - which two players have played in most League Cup Finals - clue, it's 6 each, one played all 6 for one club and the other shared his between 3 clubs....

Well the 3 clubs one is definitely Emile Heskey with Leicester, Liverpool and Villa. 6 for one club implies it would probably be a Liverpool player. Ian Rush?

Right on both counts: scroll down to "Records"

That said, any further discussion of the League Cup on this forum, for the next two weeks at least, is banned...

(And this is only as accurate as the broadcaster from whom I heard it this morning....)

Which three outfield players have played every minute of every game for the Premier League clubs this season?
