Love the way they talk about it as though this is just normal run-of-the-mill business

Hate to say it, but let them die, and good luck to the ST with a phoenix club

Northwich refuse to sign up to a package that would enable them to stay on their current ground for the remainder of this season.Reading between the lines I wonder if they have some advice that encourages them to think they can extend their stay further? One part of the statement does still cause concern. There is reference to the lease able to be ended on 3 days notice. Is this really acceptable security of tenure for this league? Wasn't this checked after the problem of the first game being postponed? How much do leagues really check these things. We learn that Truro have only this week paid the Revenue& Customs following court action and of course assisting their cashflow in gaining promotion

I think they are trying to enlist the support of Sport England who may be advising them

Speaking from limited personal experience there is some law / rule / edict which says that (I'm paraphrasing here) if a sporting facility is 'lost' as a result of development, then the sporting body which has lost out then has a right to be compensated with a replacement facility to at least an equal standard. No doubt there are ways around this, but I am aware of one such ongoing case where the sports club in question is getting a better facility than is being lost (but this is because the developer doesn't want to get into a protracted legal wrangle)

The complication here is that NVFC don't actually own their stadium so I wonder if they still enjoy this entitlement. It would be ironic (and highly surprising) if they were given a ground to replace one they never owned!!

I know three lawyers who support HTFC (one of whom has been known to post on this thread) and one very experienced football administrator, none of whom can work out how the he** Vics were ever allowed to play on having failed to meet the criteria at the start of the season

Maybe the NPL should have employed one of the aforementioned....

Having discussed with a work colleague who knows about such things - it seems that the VIcs are stuffed. If they are a tenant then they stand no chance of getting a facility given to them as compensation for being turfed out. THey would only get a new ground if they were the owners of the current venue and we being subjected to a CPO process

The terms of their lease re: notice periods would make interesting reading however

Every chance Kettering v Telford will be off on Saturday, but had it gone ahead it would have been behind closed doors as KTFC haven't paid their police bill

Portsmouth may have had their wings clipped by the taxman successfully getting their bank accounts frozen, but it has not stopped them flying to tomorrows game at Blackpool as the flights were booked before the accounts frozen.

Every chance the pitch will be frozen - I recall that Blackpool were the only Premier League team last season which didn't have undersoil heating? So it may be a wasted journey anyway. Doh!

According to the BBC webiste Rangers have 177 employees of which 32 are classed as 'first team squad' (!!!) with another 13 employed in media and PR roles (!!!)

Job cuts are inevitable so the article says.

I know where I'd start!

Good spot, full list here

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17053571

It is truly staggering how these clubs have built up their backroom staff, especially with an army of coaches, movement experts, video analysts, sports psychologists and dieticians..... yet still their players can't find a colleague with a 5-yard pass.....

... like this lot at Villa Park....

... but what would you do? - you can't levy a financial punishment, they have no money!

Other clubs are effectively defrauded when clubs cheat by not paying their bills - we've suffered ourselves in recent seasons by trying to compete on an uneven playing field

The only meaningful disincentive might be a two-division relegation for going into administration, or some such, with the current season's playing record expunged. That still punishes players and fans but might put an end to mismanagement. Or it might not...

i read in NLP that if darlington were to survive and they get relegated they would drop down 2 levels into the northern premier league next season

Portsmouth administrator reveals on Five Live that their highest-paid player is/was on £30k+ per week. NOW does everyone agree that they were cheating and deserve a two-division (at least) relegation....
