Farnborough latest

By way of balance, one club (Mansfield) has at least got something sorted

Ah, it's not just the board's fault at Vale then.

Blame the fans and the Government as well...

Rangers latest (as I write, though ths situation is very fluid today)

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17221172

Several more due out during the day, I hear.

Wilde was the subject of a rejected £500k bid from Bolton in the window, free agent now so he can join whoever he likes - so leaving and foregoing some salary may not be as dramatic a step as it looks

Talk of Gers being stripped of some or all of the last seven titles they won

Little chance, I'd think, of getting a UEFA Licence for next season (deadline 31 March)

And Everton just may be kicking themselves for shelling out £6.5m for Jelavic in January - maybe could have got him for nowt now and he's hardly kicked a ball for them - though I understand thay've only paid about half in cash so far

What a mess

Vale have applied at the High Court in Bham today to go into admininstration and that will be confirmed by Friday

Good to hear that the fans have set up a hardship fund for the staff at the FC who don't get paid, whereas the footballers benefit from the football creditors rule. Buckets being filled, I hear...

A long list of celebrity/well-known Vale fans has just been mentioned on talkSPORT; the most famous of them apparently helped them financially to emerge from their previous administration.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17230886

Remains to be seen who will bail them out this time...

Strangers AGM last night.

Reported on their forum.

Again, the social club showed its value with a turnover two and a half times of that of the football side of the business.
Deficit at end of last financial year was 756k including 335k of Directors Loans.
Pugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble, Grubb.

Depends what they mean by defecit?

It isn't loss over the year, as that is £10k according to their forum (not bad in the scheme of things). If it means loans/overdraft etc., which im assuming it does, they owe roughly £421k to various creditors (excl. Directors). Depends how/when they are paying that off or when its due, to determine if they are in any trouble.

It does sound like they are running the playing budget within their means though, so it doesn't sound like they are in any immediate trouble.

Funny, I've had talkSPORT on for the last two hours and they haven't mentioned it!

Can Peter Reid have his money back then? (or am I missing the point of administrations ;) )

Another success story for the CV of Peter Ridsdale...

It seems that tonight's Manchester Premier Cup Final between Droylesden and Mossley has been postponed because the former can't raise a side!!

It seems that an influx of new blood (forgive the pun) has led to an exodus of players meaning that only 8 or 9 blokes are eligible to play in the final

Should a walkover not then be deemed to have taken place and the match declared null & void with Mossley declared the winners?

Maybe this would fall under the heading "off-field shenanigans" rather than "clubs in crisis", but either way it isn't good

Durham City resign from the Evo-stik League

http://evostikleague.pitchero.com/durha ... ague-8768/

Very, very sad - I assume it's financial problems....

Of course, the FA allowing them to install a plastic pitch then not letting them play FA Cup matches on it didn't help....

This response from my Northern reporter

Yet another North East team opts to return to the Northern League. They will not travel and demand very good money so with not great crowds the result is inevitable without a money bags supporter.

Source of this info ex Hartlepool Player who has played around the northern league and NPL for 10 years before recent retirement. The Northern League dominate the FA Vase and no surprise because the top half of the First Division are of a very good standard.

Gulp!

Getting thrown out of a league is nothing new but being thrown out of Europe is a whole new ball game.

The statement that they are encountering well documented financial problems is probably down to the fact they are full-time. Another poorly run club over-stretching itself

They had major sponsors/investors who withdrew.

So many NL clubs are reliant on benefactors (of one sort or another) and when they're gone, they're gone

Cracking article

In Wales, as in England, (even with the possibility of a lucrative run in Europe), you can't sustain the unsustainable

TNS (currently the exception to the rule according to that piece, written by their Press Officer) would fold tomorrow if their millionaire owner got bored

We won't be playing at the Darlington Arena next season then, even if they are parachuted into the NPL

In non league paper last week they said marine needed £40,000 to replace dodgy floodlights ive also heard early in the season that chorley were short on cash but i believe good attendances have reduced their plight somewhat
Crisis over at Marine, it seems - they've seen the light....
