Went to watch Khalsa v Lye today. Gurjit SIngh started for the home side playing the number 10 role. Took an hour for either side to register a shot on target. Despite our problems I think they gulf between the two divisions (I've seen a number of NPL Midland Div games this season) would see us in the top half of this league. I've seen little quality with all the teams I've seen content to lump the ball forward in hope.

The home side won with a deflected goal which was fitting.

Good points - 12 quid for an adult and student to get in (19 quid for the same at Hednesford) and got 2 hot chocolates and samosas for a fiver.

3.20 onwards for Ossie's goal.

2-0 is a dangerous lead, as we all know...

;)

Pity the commentator couldn't identify the scorer at the first attempt..

Went to watch AFC Wulfs play out a 0-0 with Congleton. Dave Parton was in goal for the visitors (he had a short spell with us some years ago).

Congleton dominated the game, but Wulfs set themselves up superbly to limit the visitors to a couple of chances which were well saved. As the game wore on Congleton became more frustrated and one of their coaches was an absolute lunatic and was willing to pick a fight with anyone. What a nasty bunch and as a neutral I was delighted to see them fail to win.

Congleton have invested heavily in an experienced squad, but lacked a poacher in the box.
