And in the latest news.....

Post by The Beerhunter »

Tyrone Barnett has been named in the PFA Team of the Season and (one for Glyn) TNS have applied to play in the FA Cup and FA Trophy next season.

Would have thought the 3G pitch would be a problem in the FA Cup.

Does that mean we can compete in the Welsh Cup then? Obviously, if we reach the Final, we would promise not to win it!
It took me years to understand "here's" from "hears", so their you go!

Yeah, I was onto that, they're citing the precedent of Newport and Wrexham both of whom are affiliated to both English and Welsh FAs (as are TNS who are based in Oswestry and indeed are the current holders of the Shropshire Senior Cup) and were allowed to enter both last season...

.... but yes, the artificial surface at Park Hall would prevent TNS from playing a home FA Cup game there, as would the fact that clubs are only allowed to enter it if they played in the Trophy or the Vase the previous season.... but millionaire chairman Mike Harris is never averse to getting a bit of publicity.

They just might squeeze into the Trophy.... but if they do and their game(s) clash(es) with a Welsh commitment they'd struggle to put out two teams on the same day (which is why the other two Welsh clubs I mentioned above crashed out of the Welsh Cup this season) and no way are they going to double the size of their (full-time professional) squad

Oh, and congratulations to Tyrone, entirely expected I'm sure.

Ched Evans in the League One team too and predictably Gordon Taylor has backed his man...

Staggering, on the basis of what we saw of him last season. But time will tell....

March 24 for the FA Trophy Final next season

http://www.thefa.com/Competitions/FACom ... 60612.aspx

Rare good sense from the FA

Poor York City had to go there on consecutive weekends last season, not that they mind too much...

Bacup Borough are changing their name

http://www.nonleaguedaily.com/news/inde ... &nid=93759

The club are mindful of its (sic) new responsibility to be the flag bearers for Rossendale football going forwards.

Like "in and around", I will die a happy man when I've stopped this "going forward" nonsense, and even funnier/worse still, "going forwards" !!

Crazy.

I wouldn't have thought they'd want it to be easily replicated anyway, doesn't that make cheap replica kit and souvenirs easier to make?!
