Actually this is old news....
I thought my eyes were deceiving me when I glanced at the ad hoardings while watching the LFC game on catch-up, but no, it seems a Premier League club really does need an "official ice-cream supplier" - the world has gone truly mad...

Bizarre going on at Blose today. Rowett is a successful, Young British manager but that isn't enough these days when you have foreign owners who presumably know little about football at that level.
Whether Zola can do better remains to be seen, but I bet he doesn't have to manage on a shoestring budget like Rowett did.
it appears that in England you only have to be a 'name' to get a job.

Pompey Supporters Trust gave a free hot drink and a mince pie to all Hartlepool fans who trekked down there today. Nice one.
Plus the ref played 11 minutes of overtime, so they really got their money's worth!!

Jackie, this one had me worried for a moment, remembering a keeper with a very similar name!

But also a testament to the fact that football clubs such as these cannot buy success forever.Glyn wrote:Heck. Yes.
A lesson to be learnt for many clubs still attempting the feat.

I remember Max Griggs being rather conceited at the time when he commented on opposition to the merger from supporters of Rushden Town and Irthlingborough Diamonds. Two clubs lost their identity and now the remaining ground is set to disappear.
Griggs may have delivered short term success ,but his legacy is a paper club leading a nomadic existence.

Dimitri Payet doesn't want to play for his club...

This has a familiar ring to it....

Novel approach to match postponements. If the pitch isn't fit, switch it to the training ground and start two hours later. This could catch on (or maybe not!)

Steve McLaren sacked again by Derby after five months in the job. Another club sacking managers regularly in an effort to stumble across somebody who can work miracles.

As pointed out to me by a regular forum poster - Mr Edwards has now moved on from TUFC to start his own company (with the pay-off he received maybe?)

But in what little time I've had to research them via Google and Twitter I can't see what position he's taken up...

Birmingham City have "parted company" with Harry Redknapp (after he brought in 14 players during the summer). There will always be out-of-work managers who apply for jobs, but who on earth would want that one...
