Re: Four Short Years, How Times Change
This has been the story at Hednesford since we got relegated from the conference. We've been a bit of a yo-yo club and arguably that is down to us not having a great deal of stability off the field.
Just my own view, but it's often been a case of one step forward and then two back.
We've never managed to maintain step 2 football despite a couple of promotions and a couple of near misses in the play-offs. THe club has been for sale for donkey's years but we've never found a serious prospective buyer and this is where we have ended up as a result.

Since starting to support the club in the late 90s, it's definitely been a rollercoaster ride best enjoyed in reverse.

One of the problems, he was given far too long. Just the same as we're doing now.

At our level clubs with off-field issues don't tend to thrive.
I won't say too much , but Ade (to his immense credit) is hanging around.
Graham, on the other hand, hasn't covered himself in glory from what I've heard. I'll also add that Neil Tooth alluded to interference in playing matters after his departure. To some owners clubs are just play-things that allow folk to play out their dreams.
Until we get a serious owner, or consortium, we will be bottom feeders. It's fine saying that we are having big attendances at games, but to suddenly increase the budget on the back of that will be a risky tactic as fans are fickle as we know. Having a commercial manager in place is very sensible and should allow the budget to increase in due course.
The club has been run on the basis of income from spectators only for too long. That's at the heart of the issue.
