Today I went to see Dudley Town who were 2-0 winners at home to Uttoxeter. Some decent football was played and I wouldn’t fancy our chances against them, not with this season’s team anyway.
Harry Crook scored twice, one from the penalty. He had a couple of chances to score his hat-trick but he missed them. I’ve put this on this thread because I assume he is still dual registered with us, having come on as a sub for us in our home game against 1874 Northwich earlier this season.

All of a sudden we appear to have four coaches (two new arrivals in the 24.hours as yet unconfirmed) and a Goalkeeping Coach.

Why?????

Absolute overkill it ain't the Premier League.
We'll have more management than players soon.
Can't get my head round it.

ANy idea if he has been playing regularly for Clitheroe?
What does this mean for our existing forward players I wonder?

Midfield is still the biggest area of concern for me.

19 games in NPL West this season 17 for Mossley and just the last two for Clitheroe.
Just ONE goal

I’m sure I read somewhere that Eden was Mossley’s 2nd leading scorer this season with about 6 goals.

I thought it was in our preview v’s Mossley but just gone back and it doesn’t mention it

20 years old, ex-Newcastle and we are his sixth club already.

Is it just me or is anyone else totally underwhelmed by the events of the last couple of weeks.
I'm underwhelmed with the managerial appointment and also with the latest batch of signings which to be honest looks like jobs for the boys.
For the first time ever we appear to have terrific resources but how they are being utilised worries me.
This must then beg the question who is making these decisions?
I sincerely hope I'm wrong in my assessment but I just can't get my head round the events of the last few weeks.

Please discuss.

It said Banister was their second top scorer with 6 and Bailey had just left for Clitheroe

We'll know in 6 or 7 weeks whether these changes have worked or not. We have signed a couple of 'names' but right now we need to be signing players proficient at step 3 as we need play -off form from now on. We've signed the wrong type of player all season (although Danny Glover's hands were tied) We have made our bed now...

The most important thing for me is that Paul Moore and his team are dispensed with as soon as the final whistle goes against Bootle, regardless of where we finish or what league we are in.
I understand the idea of bringing him in with his knowledge and experience of this league (rather than any success?) as a last ditch attempt to get results and try to keep us in this league whether it’s by a minor miracle of getting us out of the bottom two or via Division Reprieve, but if we are looking at promotion from Step 4 or Step 5 next season he and his team are not the men.

Apart from his first game against Chasetown I thought he was really poor. Jogged around, put in minimal effort and never dominated any game in which he played.

personally I'm happy to see him gone.

Agree with what Lee has said above
the write up when he joined stated 'The elegant, box to box midfielder'. There was nothing elegant in watching him chase shadows, be second best to every challenge if he even went for a challenge and frankly he offered nothing going forwards or backwards.

Have to say he probably has been one of the best this season, makes you wonder if a 7 day approach has gone in though. Not as if the club has done this all season.

Tom’s performances this season and last for me are tainted by his past. He once was a tremendous driving force in midfield who could dominate a game. Now he is a pale shadow of his former self. Looks to pass back rather than forward and doesn’t get around the pitch as much. Yes I know he’s is older than he used to be but one of the reasons we are in the bottom two is how consistently poor the team has been in midfield. Tom leaving unfortunately would not weaken us and you never would have said that last time he was here in his pomp.
I wouldn’t say he is “one of the best” this season but even one of the best in this woeful season doesn’t have to be much to still be a million miles away from the Tom of years previous.

On the subject of Ali, the one thing we will miss is his aerial ability. This sets him apart from the rest of the midfield, but I accept that all have been a massive disappointment this season and for that reason (as well as the absence of a goal scoring forward) we are in the mire.
The new manager seems to be making changes fairly late in the day and at the end of the season we can say that they were inspired or simply a case of hitting the panic button. Players coming in have to improve us and this will be translated into points on the board.

Thorley has struggled this season, but in the past he has been excellent. I guess time catches up with everyone eventually
