That’s it. Just give us the league title now!

Mayemba and Mardenborough up front will kill this league!

At least we have an effective front pairing. Plenty of issues in other areas. I think some of those that have signed will struggle at this level so i hope we continue to look at alternatives so that some can be moved on.

I am happy to give some of these players a stage at step 4 there may be some gems unearthed, however the midfield for me is a worry, the only experience is an aging injury prone Tom Thorley, the rest looks extremely lightweight and this is just the same area where we have struggled in recent years.

5 strikers in the squad now? Is Danny looking at stepping back from playing abit more this season .Dixon might be ok with maybe playing a back seat a little for a season but I can't see the other 3 wanting to miss out.competition is good and striker wise for this level we seem very strong but alot for one position when we are still short in some areas.

Early days, but Dixon hasn't impressed and his record at Lichfield was patchy at best. Can't see him being an integral part of the squad and may find himself loaned out quite quickly.
We are in desperate need of quality out wide. Doesn't matter how good your forwards are if you don't give them any service.

The last sentence sums up where we are having seen all the friendlies there’s little doubt Danny has not found a good wide player and we are lacking in midfield.
There’s still time before the season gets underway and clubs in higher divisions will be releasing players who will be looking to find a club lower down the ladder.
So fingers crossed that in the remaining fixtures a “trialist or trialists arrive who fit the bill” only time will tell.
Villa have been a great club, are still a great club and always will be a great club.

Danny commented on Facebook that one of the players has been the subject of a seven day approach? Might have read it incorrectly..

Fair play to him if he does, shows real character strengths that are seemingly lacking in some people these days.
