Great to see some of the old faces pull on a Hednesford shirt once more; unsurprisingly, the legends had far too much for the vets in the end with the likes of Elliott, Danny and John Disney showing their continued quality. Dave MacPherson was in great nick and, dare I say, looked more mobile than some of the midfielders we’ve had this season ;) Craney played the first half in goal and then switched with Lloyd Ransome to play outfield in the second half - his team-mates seemed desperate to get him a goal but he kept shanking his efforts over the stand! Kyle Patterson was also in excellent shape, although a couple of the other lads are perhaps taking retirement a little too comfortably!

The vets huffed and puffed their way through it, with Kieran Wells going close a couple of times. Former Leeds United man Simon Johnson played well - you can see why they won the vets league with him in the team as he’s in good shape and still has a great touch.

Great to see Bails get his goal late on, well deserved and a fitting way to finish off his own testimonial. All in all, an enjoyable and fun couple of hours in the sun for all that turned out.
