I’m not sure, but I think we’ve only played there a couple of times. However, your question will be answered with a yes by 5pm this afternoon

(As I type) that's some points deduction to place Banbury bottom!Del wrote: ↑Sat Apr 23 2022 4:49 pm BARWELL 3 - 4 PITMEN

Re: Barwell (A)
An entertaining afternoon in the sun and a nice way to end the what’s been a challenging season. With the shackles off and nothing to play for, there was a bit more freedom on both sides to go out and express themselves, hence the seven-goal return
Absolutely comical defending on both sides in the first half; very much a ‘you score, we score’ mentality. Ison - playing at the base of midfield - showed great technique to score the opener and I must admit I thought he got the final touch to the ball for the second goal, only for Parker to be awarded it - a bit of a bizarre goal that one. Lita’s goal was superb, taking it wide before showing a real poacher’s instinct to slot it into the far corner of the net. However, Barwell were gifted ways back into the game again and again through poor clearances, indifferent passing and, frankly, some horrendous positioning at times
After Webb’s goal was immediately cancelled out at the start of the second half, the frenetic pace dropped and we reverted back to our frustrating over-indulgent football, with Bennett and Cater both guilty of too much over-playing on the edge of the area
O’Sullivan worked really hard down the left so was my MoTM ahead of Ison, with honourable mentions to Lita and Parker. The defence was woeful throughout and we were lucky to escape with only three conceded as they never looked comfortable.
The installation of the 3G pitch at Kirkby Road has made a hugely positive impact on what I’ve always considered one of the poorer arenas at step three; the ground is now clean, tidy and uncluttered with an excellent surface, although the compromise is that the first three rows of the main stand are now redundant as they sit below pitch level! A small price to pay for progress I suppose but it really highlights the heavy slope that existed before.
