Bedworth v Market Drayton next Saturday, so we should know our first opponents in this season's competition soon after 5pm, subject to the FA bothering to update their site....

You would think the FA website would be updated sharpish and regularly but no its crap.

That's often the way with a "professionally" run website - they couldn't give a to$$ about detail etc, whereas the smaller and "amateur" website is looked after with love and tender care!

Will be surprised if it is MDT, but you never can tell I guess

Have rescheduled my aborted weekend away which was to coincide with the postponed game at FCUM, so I'll now be missing this one whoever we play (I've done MDT but never Bedworth, but a weekend in Beddorth wasn't tempting for her indoors!!) - my absence has served us well so far this season, so bring on the next round!!

Bedworth 2-1 MDT

Some information here

http://www.thefa.com/TheFACup/FACompeti ... dup-081011

though, with the FA's usual stunning level of competence, the link to the results isn't working as I write...

But scroll down here for Trophy Results involving clubs in the Evo-stik North empire

http://evostikleague.pitchero.com/results.php

... and here for the Southern equivalent

http://www.southern-football-league.co. ... on=results

(and while you're there look at today's SLP results, some intriguing ones there today!)

I found the Bedworth - MDT final result on BBC Sport website vidiprinter. In fact the result was in before our match even finished.
Bedworth have made a great start under former Pitman Steve Farmer and it promises to be a very difficult match for us.

The pigeon has now arrived at FA HQ with the full set of results

A couple of 7-goal away wins down South - now that would be nice....

;)

Travel club are considering running a coach / mini bus to Bedworth for the FA Trophy game but this will depend on sufficient people wanting to travel.

The cost will be £8-00 with the coach leaving Keys Park at 1-00pm, to run a coach we need a minimum of 25 with the Travel Club providing a subsidy to run the coach, any number below this would mean an increased subsidy which would not be a viable option, therefore we would be unable to run a coach.

The mini bus cost will be also £8-00 with again the Travel Club providing a subsidy, any less than 16 would not be viable. Please note that due to the space available on the mini bus and no luggage compartments we would not be able to accommodate wheelchairs on the mini bus, apologies for this but logistically not possible, as usual wheelchair users would be able to travel by coach.

If you wish to book please phone Ken Leese on 07935723290, or alternatively see him / committee member on the coach to Marine leaving Keys Park 11/10/11 at 4-30pm spaces available, £16 / £12 or at Corby game.

Update on Bedworth travel arrangements, first sixteen bookings will reserve place on mini bus, other bookings will then be placed on waiting list and once up to 25 coach will be provided. Please note if there are less than sixteen bookings made then the Travel Club will be unable to provide transport to Bedworth.

For those who have little time to look outside our own league (which includes me), I'm indebted to Keith for drawing my attention to the current league table in the Southern League Central (though their definition of "central" and mine differ, looking at the component teams....)

http://www.southern-football-league.co. ... gue-tables

Hmmm, Bedworth will be relishing the challenge....

They beat an under-strength Pitmen side last season at our place in the BSC (?)..... I hope we're putting a full-strength team out this time - money at stake, and another midweek off if we win....

Possibly the most interesting tie out of that lot promises to be the match between Newcastle Town and Newcastle Rangers. I hope the Rangers players don't forget who they play for!

Bedworth strengthen their squad, but he can't play against us...

More clubs than Jack Nicklaus, as my Dad used to say

These guys must have to be told which colour kit they wear before they ko, they play for so many different clubs in one season....

Defiantly!!!! LOL

Sure, they gave us a very good game at Keys Park in the league, but remember got their equaliser only thanks to a very stuffy goal and we could have had 5 or 6

Could have been a lot worse. Home draw against a team lower in the table, you can't ask for more (cliche alert  )
