Restructuring 2019-2020

Post by cds »

Following on from the promotions/relegations thread, and with the silly season about to start once more, I thought it was apt to start a new restructuring thread for the 2019-2020 campaign, which we will no doubt be involved in somewhere again. Although they’ve been quick to outline their plans for 2020-2021 before this season’s over yet:

https://www.thenonleaguefootballpaper.c ... ange-2020/

A realisation of four teams from the south coming down from the Vanarama National League has finally hit home for a few teams at step two in the last week, with Oxford City, Gloucester City, Hemel Hempstead Town, St. Albans City and Braintree Town (!) all mentioned as possible lateral moves to NLN

All summed up nicely by Kidderminster Harriers fan Luke on YouTube:

Hang on a minute… just because Braintree is slightly further north than Hemel or St. Albans on Google Maps, then they will go into the NLN? Hemel and St. Albans are close to the M1 and are better equipped to travel, surely? Isn't that a major consideration, the road network, hence Oxford's previous spell in NLN?

.. and, after the demise of Shaw Lane last summer, we were further south than two clubs who stayed south, while we were moved north...

Potential allocation factoring Gateshead's drop to the NPL:

Aldershot reprieved; Truro reprieved; Kings Langley moved back to SLS; Stafford moved to SLC; Gateshead replace Stafford in NPL. Don't think Strangers have twigged yet that they could get screwed over based on their forum (in)activity

They are a bit thick though...

I'll take Stafford over Kings Langley any day - yet another local game (have I said I want Rushall away on Boxing Day yet?...)

What a great League that will be for Midlands Non League Football.
Let's hope nothing goes wrong before the League AGM.

I'm glad we are not involved in that.
It's a well written and well explained article though.
