OWNAFC ceases trading!

Post by Pitman1983 »

Official message in the OWNAFC app tells users that they have ceased trading due to harassment against the directors. The users of the app have not been happy bunnies the last couple of days with the poor performance of the app, poor communication and no club likely to be taken over. Seems the first bit of trouble and they packed their bags into the sunset with everyone’s £49.

This should be the death knell of this type of club ownership. I think we have had a very very lucky escape!

There is no evidence of threats against children, I’ve been seeing everyone argue back and forth whilst watching the rugby. No involvement from me.

When it looks as if what is on offer looks too good to be true.....
Trademark approach I am afraid( think pyramid sales/ ponzi schemes/inflated bank deposit schemes/land bank schemes-setting aside any allegations of illegality unless proven for the moment)
Quickly build a base of those who are 'on board' with a charm offensive
Manage critics by ignoring/not answering/deflecting criticism
Bring those waverers in and continue more of the same.
As I said from the start Emperor's New Clothes.

Will be watching the developments with interest - I would suspect fraud is a strong possibility if the OWNA’s aren’t refunded.

Blimey, that was a close shave. Will be interesting to see whether any action against OWNAFC will be taken and whether the police have a look.

I reckon we won't be seeing any of the sponsorship he promised the Club either.

£49 is a lot for 'access to app only'. ....

OWNA Saga continues

Need to open tweet and scroll through the various threads to see all the discussion.

Interesting if correct, seems to be from ex OWNA employee who apparrently states owed salary payments, part of thread also stated part of deal was after 5 years club relocated to Cannock to enable houses to be built on site of club.

No way of knowing if true and accurate so somewhat conjecture but, if this was a possibility and a potential factor in club pulling out of OWNA deal then credit to club and securing long term football at Keys Park.

Whilst I have some sympathy with these ex-employees, I do wonder how much knowledge of these events they had at the time. In essence , the club was going to be royally shafted and its existence put in doubt and were these folk going to be part of this?
There are many clubs in non league who have sold their ground for development in anticipation of having a new ground only for it to never happen

If referring to tweets, click on tweet then on twitter name (no other tweets initially show) it then loads other tweets, it did for me.
