Aberystwyth may have a new one, but last night's game was postponed when a floodlight pylon was snapped in two by high winds and fell onto the pitch

Interesting development....

http://welsh-premier.com/index.php/hot- ... tch-policy

Interesting also that FIFA want surfaces replaced every six years (max, presumably) - TNS have relayed theirs once since it was first installed, they moved in there in 2007

I don't suppose that applies to clubs not playing in Europe (or does it?) but these pitches do have a life-span, albeit longer than some grass ones!

Sporting Khalsa: (£650k in grants towards a £1m revamp - has to be good!)

Similar problems at Worthing to those which beset SCT at the start of last season

http://www.nonleaguedaily.com/top-stori ... ction.html

A tad ironic, isn't it, when you have an all-weather-pitch on which you can't play when the weather is as near-perfect for football as you're likely to get...

Interesting point made by Jeff Stelling on SSN... three teams in the National League (including Sutton who are riding high) have artificial surfaces which are allowed in the NL but not in the EFL. So if they got promoted they'd have to rip up their artificial pitch and replace it with a grass one, at a cost of, say £500k.

For some convoluted reason which I didn't catch as I'm multitasking, he also said that if they weren't allowed entry to the EFL they could in fact be demoted to the "National League North", which would be quite a punishment for any of Sutton, Bromley or Maidstone!

Interesting first para

Numerous clubs haven't yet started this year, we can get a man on the moon but we can't get a football match on in January or February....

 ;)

Look at the state of this...

Clarification:

Artificial surfaces are good enough for FIFA internationals and the Champions League, but not for League Two:

Good point well made... although we may not be in the NPL...

So maybe we'll also have to re-jig our entire PSF programme...
Haven't Basford got a plastic pitch?
What's the state of play with Buxton's?

Thinking about it, Scarborough and Hyde also have plastic pitches although 'someone' is bound to point out that this is on the wrong thread....
