Think Burton is used for the BSC final rather than the SSC final - at least the latter is played in the right county!

Aye, but my point was that Burton is in Staffs (although I don't think they enter the SSC??!!) whereas it isn't in Birmingham (don't think they enter the BSC either, though I haven't time or energy to check!)

Yeah I was gonna say that - the BSC is at Burton (or at least was) and the SSC is at Leek.... our ground is probably the best out of all the teams that enter the competition, maybe we should suggest hosting it?

I think that the selection of Leek as the venue for the final last year was more to do with politics and who had a representation on the Staffs FA committee than the various merits of one ground over another

An attraction of the County cups is to be able to see your team play in a Football League stadium which also acts as a reward to players and supporters for getting to a final. The SSC final has alternated between Stoke and Port Vale for a few seasons now apart from last season - maybe both grounds were unavailable on the date the Staffs FA wanted to play the final. I'll do some digging.
It was great when we played the BSC final at Burton - strange venue due to location I admit but it was great to see us play a final in a new ground. Recent BSC finals have also been played at rather less luxurious surroundings and I just hope that if we get to the final of either or both that the venue is fitting for a cup final and what that means to people. I certainly would not want to see us play a SSC final match at KP. Let's hope those that make the decisions make the right decisions for the fans and the players.

But the final at Burton was played in front of a (crows) of 500. Little or no atmosphere, had to sit down for the whole game and couldn't change ends at half time.

If that is to be my matchday experience then I might as well go down to Molineux!

We are a non-league club and so called mickey mouse cup finals should be played at a venue befitting the occasion i.e Strangers

On a serious note, I'd rather play such a final at our ground or Halesowen where you get a decent atmosphere with 500 in the ground, stand up and change ends at half time
