Re: Down Memory Lane
Non League Tables from 1967-8 ie the year before the Northern Premier league was born (or so says Alan Allcock anyway!)
A fair few "where are they now?" clubs there!
And a funny story on Alan's Facebook page about a Witton player who told his wife they were playing Guinness Exports (who were based in Ormskirk) in the Cheshire League so he'd be away in Ireland for the weekend!

He's good, this guy
One of four "home grounds" on which I saw Dudley play
(That one is now a David Lloyd Leisure Centre (or whoever took them over) and I pass it every day - also played cricket on there - long, long time ago!)

Four years ago tonight....
Gosh, where has that gone?!
... and indeed, where have some of those players gone? (One of them's gone from Leamington to Hednesford!) - and the fans...
Was that a shout of "pass it" just as Clemmo passed it into the net?
Happy days.... (albeit the next game wasn't quite as much fun...)

My daughter was one day old, hence my absence.
Batch scores against us, possible foul on Breeden for our second. Guess it doesn't matter now....

As we have no HTFC football to watch at the moment.....
still one of the best games I've ever seen, and arguably Dan Crane's finest hour in HTFC colours
How on EARTH was that not a penalty?! - and where can we find another Clemmo?

Dad always used to tell us that Stanley Matthews had played at the Cross Keys.
Never doubted him for a minute....

Hull's FA Cup history against NL clubs - including a famous occasion...
http://therealfacup.co.uk/2016/02/18/hu ... -travails/
Enjoy... (and yes, he looks young*, doesn't he!)
Now then, if one of our lads is through one-on-one with the keeper in the 92nd minute tomorrow....
(*Let it run to the Darlington highlights and you'll see a very young Mr Price too!)

Jackie Maund will enjoy this one... fascinating to see what sort of tackles only earned yellow cards - or none at all - "back in the day" -

"Shankly - Nature's Fire"
Only caught this last night having recorded it at the weekend, hadn't realised it first went out last November... recommended, a lovely watch, and good to see Roger Hunt, Chris Lawler and Ian St John still looking well and sounding coherent!
