Physio urgently needed, and Scott and I had the same thought at the same time!

Meanwhile, nice one Rio (tough call who disgraced himself more last night, Ferdinand or Phil Neville)

Phil Neville: "harder than I thought it would be" - so does that mean that his first attempt at it was in England's first World Cup game? Staggering. And as usual the BBC hear the complaints but ignore them. Grrrr.

Rio says Rooney should play as the main target man on Thursday. No club bias there then, presumably he hasn't noticed that Sturridge has made the place his own...

Five Live are advertising that there IS a red button option to have the radio commentary rather than the tv one, so it may be possible to avoid Phil Neville's next attempt at co-commentary. You might get Steve Claridge or Chris Waddle though, so take your chances....

Rumours abound that Mr Bean will be in the hot seat for the Uruguay game, he has been spotted on Copacabana Beach!

Plenty more on my Facebook page but it was only intended for fun, and the Belgies went and mucked it up anyway!

There's another joke doing the rounds about "what connects Belgium and the Villa?" but it's too rude for a family audience...

So does this mean that telly will return to normal once England come home or will we still have to watch all the foreigners chasing a ball about?

I thought Gerrard was woeful (for the second match running) - I said to Junior PP at half-time that Woy should have subbed him and given Lampard a go.
Mr Jagielka seemed ill at ease all night which didn't help matters and Hart seemed a bag of nerves at times (schoolboy defending on low, near post corners)
We seemed intent on trying to walk it in at times rather than getting wide and knocking crosses in.

The frustrating thing is that Uruguay are no great shakes

I'd be inclined to make some radical changes for the last game

At least the performance of this squad has matched expectations.

If a Hednesford midfielder put in the half arsed "challenge" Gerrard offered Suarez, in the build-up to the first goal, I'd be shouting for him to get taken off for the rest of the game.

In 180 minutes of World Cup football he offered absolutely nothing positive.

I have actually heard some sense talked today... a) Stuart Pearce, with some fascinating stats about how Germany's first team included six of the players who won the u-21 competition for them two years ago, while England's included, erm, nil (Milner and Walcott started in that game and Hart was suspended, so arguably three players have actually made progress - though Milner was no doubt playing as an over-age player anyway)... meanwhile he had 46 (yes, forty-six) players cry off from an u-19 tournament a few years ago at which the Argentina coach commented before the game that England don't take youth football seriously enough. I make him right. Trevor Brooking has just retired from overseeing the development of England's young players, great job Trev. And then b) from Colin Murray of all people (I try very hard not to listen to him but they were discussing films on Five Live) the point that they keep putting the wrong "experts" in the co-commentary seat [when most people are watching] and leaving the real experts in the studio for the pre- and post-match bits when far fewer people watch. "I want Thierry Henry to tell me what it feels like to be defending a one goal lead in the 75th minute at the World Cup - he knows" - and right on cue we have Robbie Savage on the BBC and Clarke Carlisle on ITV, whose World Cup Finals playing experience equates to mine...

Anyone with any sense would field a team of young players and leave out the dead wood.

Sven Goran Eriksson has said he would field the same eleven.

I rest my case.
