Couldn't make the recent Robert Plant gig at Wolves Civic, but here's a bit of last night's one at the Royal Albert Hall - a folk song, spoiled only by people clapping and singing along with it....

Reminded by an ad that they're back at Wolves Civic soon that I saw Dr Hook there about 100 years ago

Interesting that, with most of us posting on this thread being of a certain age, none of us have seen the Rolling Stones about whom there was so much fuss last weekend

I wouldn't cross the street...
Errr.... I have, Bingley Hall in 1978 (I think)- it's on my list. The sound was crap.
By the way, Snafu ( I presume you mean the band not the military acronym)- didn't Micky Moody play with them before he was in Whitesnake?

Oh, and add Jon Hiseman's Colosseum II to my list, Bham Town Hall. They keep coming back to me!

Colosseum are on at the Robin2 in Bilston next Thursday (Feb 26th).
Pugh, Pugh, Barney McGrew, Cuthbert, Dibble, Grubb.

Wow. If some of these bands could wait until I retire and am allowed out after 7pm I'm going to have a whale of a time

As requested

My top ten:

Thin Lizzy at Bingley Hall Stafford

Billy Joel at Wembley (Empire Arena, I think it was called then?)

Eric Clapton at the Royal Albert Hall (in a box - magic!)

Chris Rea twice in a week at Bham Odeon and Manchester Apollo before anyone had heard of him (later saw him as support to Clapton at the NEC before he finally headlined his own big arena gigs)

The Who at the NEC

Queen as support to Mott the Hoople at Bham Town Hall, again when they only had their first single out and they stole the show

Trapeze at the Forum, Cannock, one of only two gigs ever held there (the other being Argent but we were at Wolves Civic watching Caravan that night [I'll get my kaftan]) as the plaster started falling off the walls

ELO at Bham Hippodrome when they only had about two albums out

Al Jarreau at the NEC (row B seats, so close he spat on us  )

Bruce Hornsby at Bham Hippodrome. His keyboard skills are amazing. That could have been me if I hadn't given up at age 12

I could go on - Fleetwood Mac and Hall and Oates on the same bill at Maine Road; Basia, The Corrs, etc etc but those were memorable for different reasons....

;)
