I’ve just had a quick run through of my list and I have only counted Burton Albion once when I’ve been to new and old, and I haven’t counted Moor Green either. Not to mention Birmingham County FA which I have also been to. I should really be on 192.

I’m sure there’s plenty that you have been to that I haven’t, as I have given up on the long distance away trips since 2007.

Yes you're probably right, for example there's Villa Park but that doesn't really count :-D

If any Hednesford fan hasn’t been to Villa Park that is rather worrying (age dependent and unless you’re Del, of course).

Trophy Final only good memories of Villa Park unlike the 1968 FA Cup semi final!!

192. Oxford City

FT Oxford City 2-0 Peterborough Sports

Free programme, free tea, very friendly folk and a decent game. A delightful afternoon :-)

A Peterborough official remarked that his team have only played an FA Trophy game here and there since the end of October, whereas Oxford have played almost every week. All true, of course...

Another Everton one to visit in due course...

Looks like a space-ship to me. I presume I'll be able to land my helicopter there...

Another one to do...

Did Bootham Crescent... drove past this last October after my visit to Scarborough, but it was dark so I didn't do the unguided tour...

Finally adding a new one to my list tonight... it's been a while!!

Takes my total to 260 and will be the 4th ground in Cardiff on which I've watched football (plus I saw rugby at the Arms Park, but that doesn't count... )

Nice!

I've added exmouth town to my list today. The reserves were at home and they lost a furious paced encounter 2-1 in front of about 25 of us

And Darlaston Town yesterday made me up to 193. It’s been a long time coming even though it’s only 12 minutes from my house :-)

I decided to finally make the journey to Park Hall last night to see what all the fuss is about. It also allowed me to attend a Champions League fixture for the first time.
I naively forgot that UEFA rules dictate that standing at fixtures isn't allowed and so spectators were shoe-horned into 2 tightly packed stands. Me and my lad stood in the one behind the goal and spent the entire evening shielding our eyes from the sun which we looking directly into. The other stand runs down half the length of the pitch from the halfway line and the view from there didn't look great. A shame to see 2 and a half sided of the ground empty as it was a pleasant night to be standing outside watching a game.
Linfield had an impressive, large vociferous following whereas the home support consisted of little kids and half-cut middle aged blokes (on the evidence of those next to me).
The game was especially boring in the first half with both teams clearly terrified of giving a goal away. It was 35 minutes before someone tried a shot. The second half was better and really opened up in the last 20 as Linfield chased an equaliser which, on the balance of clear cut chances created, they more than deserved. They paid the price for an especially timid first hour.
TNS look well organised and their keeper was possibly the best player on the pitch as he made 4 or 5 fine saves and commanded his box all evening.
Disappointing to see virtually no catering on offer. The car park had plenty of room to accommodate burger vans and this was a bit of a missed opportunity. Perhaps there is a UEFA ruling prohibiting this too.

Excellent PP, Glyn will be delighted!

Stone Old Alleynians and Notts County made my ground count up to 195 last season, and being away for the weekend this weekend somewhere else will be making it up to 196….

I always enjoy going to Park Hall. The view from the south stand was fine, and as I was driving definitely wasn't half cut!

Yesterday, whilst visiting friends, I went to Harborough Town’s pre-season friendly against Coventry Sphinx.
The town of Market Harborough is a small and tidy little place balancing on the Leicestershire/Northamptonshire border.
The ground is 5 minutes away from the town centre on the way in as we would come, and is next to a leisure centre. Harborough Town won the United Counties League Premier Division South last season and have been promoted to the Northern Premier League Division 1 Midlands, so they will come up against the likes of Chasetown and Halesowen.
Harborough won 33 of their 38 league games last season and their opponents yesterday finished 4th in the same league, having won a mere 48 points fewer than their hosts.
In fact, this was the second game of the day at the stadium as Harborough Town’s reserves kicked off their friendly against Northants Combination League side Corby Strip Mills at 12pm.
The ground itself is very basic. It has two very small seated stands (probably only about four rows of ten seats) either side of the halfway line. The other three sides were all flat with no elevation or cover and the pitch was 3G. Inside was a decent sized clubhouse and some food, I got a 4 page programme for 50p and it was a “pay what you want” game.
I would estimate there was around 80 people there. It was an extremely hot day but the two teams gave a good account of theirselves and Harborough Town shaded the game. They won 2-1 but they did hit the post three times and Coventry had a couple of chances too.
It was a delightful visit and my friend, not originally from Market Harborough but lives there now, visited with me for his first time there in the five years he has been there. He is normally an armchair Tottenham fan but was pleased to be able to have a beer pitchside and he said he will probably be going back at some point.
I won’t be able to attend any Saturday friendlies but will be able to go to all the Tuesday games so I’m looking forward to the Villa game now on Tuesday evening.

Added the Kassam Stadium last night (Oxford v Palace), taking my total to 265 (I know where Lee was and he's catching me up very fast!)

https://footballgroundguide.com/leagues ... nited.html

Impressive stadium despite the end with no stand; sadly it's one of these new grounds on a leisure park so no pubs nearby (see what the review says) and the queue for the chippy in the complex was about half a mile long - good job I'd taken my own food and was able to resist the temptation.

Good of Vieira to put a strong side out (as PL managers snow seem to be doing in the League Cup) and class told in the end.

See not just the starting eleven but the quality of the subs he was able to introduce...
