Perton tells me that Alan Minter has passed away too, I have seen confirmation thereof (not that I doubted him for a second), nowt yet on the BBC Sport website but watch this space...

Re: RIP
RIP Dean Jones, just 59. "Hero"... "legend..." In a sporting context, yes. My customary comment when someone famous passes on... none of us knows what tomorrow holds in store, or indeed even the rest of today. Make sure you know what is your eternal destiny. If you don't understand what I mean by that, feel free to ask me, publicly or privately...

You'll no doubt hear the words "sadly died..." - fear not, Bobby's not sad where he's gone...

Sadly this loss has been overlooked (6th November)

Re: RIP
Had an amazing career with the all conquering Liverpool side. My abiding memory of him in an England shirt is conceding a goal against Scotland when he let the ball squeeze into the net between his legs. I think it cost us the game.steve-k wrote: ↑Sun Nov 15 2020 4:48 pm Another childhood goalkeeping legend sadly passes.....

Obviously had Shilton not played at the same time he would have been the undisputed first choice for England, but I always felt Shilton was a slightly better 'keeper.
