RIP Don Howe, 80.
I knew a near-neighbour of his from Goldthorn Hill, Wolverhampton (a tad ironic that he lived there) who told me what a lovely man he was.

RIP Lemmy, a Burslem man so we'll claim him as a Staffy

"Utterly unique" says Brian May, as though there's any other kind of unique or, indeed, any other kind of person...
I didn't see him play but I did see this guy, whose passing may be overshadowed by the above...

Spot on Lee, I say this each time we receive "shock news" of someone's passing, even when they've been ill beforehand.... and make sure you know where you're going - folks seem to think it's funny that Lemmy decided he wanted to go to hell (one of his quotes featured on many people's Facebook "tributes") ...Lee K wrote:Pavel Srnicek, 47:

RIP David Bowie
Love him or hate him - he was an iconic figure all through his music career, I was lucky enough to be of the Ziggy Stardust era (Torquay Town Hall - 16 June 1972).

Jack Bannister - another sad loss. Insightful, educating, experienced and often amusing. If I haven't bored you before with my story about his Birmingham Post column, ask me...

Re: RIP
Two sad losses announced by the BBC this morning ....
1) Sir Terry Wogan - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-35453541 .. best remembered by me perhaps for his outstanding humour when hosting the sickly Eurovision Song Contest.
2) Tony Beard - http://www.plymouthherald.co.uk/BBC-Rad ... story.html .. 'The Wag from Widecombe' best remembered for his wit, humour and local dialect when hosting the nationwide known Widecombe fair.

And Frank Finlay. A fine classical actor, but to me he will always be remembered as The Witchsmeller Pursuivant in Blackadder. Hilarious!
