Ted Dexter:

There was a wonderful 35 minutes of tributes to him from his playing contemporaries in the lunch interval on TMS...
can't see a link to a podcast yet but I've no doubt it will appear in due course...

Re: RIP
Lots of mysterious messages on social media this morning but it would seem that Sam Oji has passed away...
I don't yet know the circumstances... I do know that Sam was a Christian so will be just fine where he is... but nonetheless can well understand why people will see this as "sad news", Sam was 35...
We already have a minute's applause scheduled at tomorrow's game, for Dave Bates, of course; maybe we can honour Sam at the same time, he served the Pitmen and other local clubs with great distinction.

Re: RIP
Plenty of tributes to Sam in the press over the weekend, and it was good to see Birmingham, and their opponents wearing black armbands yesterday.

Jimmy Greaves, 81... Legend, I think he invented "passing the ball into the net" which I've preached for many years!
Alan Mullery about to pay tribute on Radio 4...

Re: RIP
RIP Walter Smith a real football legend who commanded respect throughout the game... tributes pouring in and rightly so... but here's my usual comment when someone famous passes on - bereavement is sad and I pray for those who loved him... but death of itself isn't sad... (I've heard the usual "taken too soon" line - who are we to say how long we have?) - heaven awaits those who have trusted in Jesus - and to quote a comment I heard very recently - "many people see a hopeless end, but we have an endless hope."

Re: RIP
Remembering 'Big' Mick Johnson today, who sadly passed away five years ago.
A big man in so many ways, another in the Mr Hednesford Town FC Family who is sorely missed by many of us.
Raising a glass, cup or mug of anything to Mick today will certainly not be 'going too far.'
Cheers big man.x

Mick will always be missed by so many, a top top man, his allegiance to HTFC was never in question and his commitment will always be remembered.
