A brief appearance for Riley and a longer one for Durrell in last night's big game - which I'm sure some of you watched... but neither talkSPORT nor Five Live could be bothered to tell us the result this morning, they think that "what Phil Neville thinks" is sports news....

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29201651

I'm intrigued by 86:59, "Iwelumo tries a through ball but Iwelumo is offside"

I thought I understood football

Be sure to scroll down to 46:27, Wrexham keeper tips over the bar a long-distance shot.

Bachmann Turns Over Drive.

(I'd love to claim that as mine but sadly it isn't...  )

He's only young that keeper, you ain't seen nothing yet! (And that is mine!)

Had the bizarre situation where the commentary team (bar Savage on one occasion) pronounced Durrell wrong all game, yet got Hednesford bang on when Riley came on.

Sometimes I'm SO glad that I have neither BT nor Sky Sports.

The thought of Owen and Savage as the "expert" panel is truly terrifying.

Well, he's sort-of still our player, but....

Taylor-Boyce not even getting a start for Tividale

(Poor officials at that level too!)

Saturday morning church activities meaning there was no chance of me getting to KL today, I was at Tivi 2-2 Leek, pretty good game, crap ref gave two dodgy penalties. Actually nice to have a stress-free Saturday afternoon where you really didn't mind who won (and amusing to hear fans of both clubs growling at the officials - hardly surprising when a lino flags for offside from a goal-kick and then the ref, having blown for it, realises what they've done and has to restart with a drop-ball!)

Taylor-Boyce totally ineffective in the first half when he never beat his man once and simply passed the ball backwards every time he got it - but then came to life in the second, did some good work and Tivi's first goal came from his cross.

Sam Hall captained Leek, usual classy self, strong in midfield although his final ball wasn't always good, did some sound defensive work in his own box too, but was withdrawn on the hour, whether tactical or because of injury I don't know

Maybe we should have a separate thread for "sort-of old player watch"?

Duzza on the mark for Wrexham (making good use of the "smack it in off the defender so the keeper has no chance" technique)*

Note especially the no 5 who towers above him as they celebrate (but size doesn't matter) and the ref who doesn't think players should celebrate goals

* We'd settle for one of those right now...

Robert Thompson-Brown (as he is now known, apparently) with a run and cross for Iyseden Christie to score one of his many goals for Yeltz yesterday

Yse pleese (I'm trying to get to grips with an i-pad and my fingers appear to be a little too fat to press the correct 'button' - or whatever the techie phrase is).

I still stand by my original observation regarding the lad tracking back to cover RTB - the phrase "running in treacle" comes to mind

Be careful what you wish for!!

Reminds me a little bit of Mickleover. Hope we're not playing them again too soon either!
