I don't watch them but I gather there are currently fewer episodes of the soap operas than normal... so we have our own, instead...

The fixture computer was kind to Brighouse Town, without them realising it at the time:

Starve yourself if you want to play for Gavin Cowan - he only wants hungry players at AFC Telford:

So Mr Haythornthwaite expects us to believe that he would have voted in the same way if Fylde were top of the league? Bull!

And they are in the same position as Liverpool when it comes to player contracts apparently!

NATIONAL LEAGUE STATEMENT

National League Clubs were asked to support an ordinary resolution on 9 April to end the Playing Season for all fixtures scheduled up to and including 25 April 2020. With almost 90% of responses returned it is evident a clear majority of Clubs are in favour, including a majority of Clubs in each of the National League, National League North and National League South divisions.

In the knowledge that the ordinary resolution has passed, the League's Board has chosen to communicate the decision now and before the last few responses are received, which will not change the outcome, to enable Clubs to make business decisions with greater clarity as soon as possible. Clubs yet to respond still have an opportunity to do so, and the League wishes to include as many preferences as possible before the final voting result is declared.

National League Chief Executive Officer, Michael Tattersall, commented: "At a time when the entire country is wrestling with the devastating impact of Covid-19, the cancellation of the remaining normal season matches brings a degree of certainty to our Clubs coping with the business implications of the virus."

In consideration of the very serious and unprecedented national public health emergency caused by the coronavirus, National League, National League North and National League South football activities have been suspended since 16 March. The options concerning the sporting outcomes of the 2019/20 season remain under careful and timely consideration, and further updates will be given in due course

...and I bet those that finished in relegation places are making a case for the opposite!

Suck it up chaps, move on and focus on next season.

Just had a nosey over at the Strangers forum after not looking for a while (it's not a well visited forum)... the natives aren't impressed with Fearn's appointment as Director of Football as it appears to be a cheap appointment to them that rewards failure after last season. Some of their ideas on a potential manager are utterly laughable and yet again lacks the context of their current stature as a football club continuing to live in denial

Just as an aside, I went on their official website earlier and was surprised to be greeted with quite blatant and aggressive begging for cash on the home page, with no obvious or apparent links available from the home page related to the playing side of the club. When did trading in the bread and butter of the club (players/match reports/fixtures) for poorly-delivered money grabs become fashionable?

Hope you washed your hands before and after going there...

That said, they claim to have raised "an incredible £50,000..."

Remarkable, to put it politely...

i think any plans about finishing the season in the summer are akin to p1551ng in the wind. Just my opinion, but I don't see football at our level returning any time soon.
Some clubs are expending a lot of time and effort to keep this on the agenda, but they'd be better off doing other things.

It's not entirely clear on how and when football below the elite level will be able to re-start. I've said before that we will be lucky to get half a season with a number of cup competitions simply scrapped.
