given the wages that Telnesford are paying to their contracted players I imagine that this could be quite a sum.

As tax payers ourselves, we should be taking a keen interest in such matters and Monday morning promises to be interesting.

Even if you were you'd need also to now how many non-players are on the payroll before coming to any meaningful conclusions about their budget

TUFC are sinking faster than the Titanic ever did!
There is an emergency board meeting at the club today and 'rumours' are rife of another consortium wanting to takeover the club, values firstly at Â£1million, then Â£220,000 - but only purchased for Â£10!
Rumours also imply Dean Edwards came out of things very well when he 'resigned' his post ... but now it is also revealed by the manager the players are on peanuts!

The simple solution is to go part-time, pay wages commensurate with the revenues being generated otherwise they will go the way of Hereford. Too many clubs in non-league are fixated with being full time when they simply can't afford to be. It's a race to the bottom with clubs like Kiddy going the same way.

TalkSPORT's "My life in sport" feature on Sunday night (10-12pm, you can get it on podcast I think) featured Brian Little. (As poor timing would have it I missed the bits about his time both playing for and managing Aston Villa).... What a tremendous career he's had in football https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Little_(footballer) and still appears on WM as a pundit/co-commentator [now lives in Stafford] - anyway he talked about his time in charge at Darlington (and how sad it's been to see their decline since) and said that when they were relegated from the Football League they decided to stay full-time but gave themselves two years to get back up again, failing which they'd have gone part-time and cut their cloth. As it happens they then got promoted in successive seasons under his management...

Bolton Winding-up petition adjourned until February.

Spokesman for their SA (as opposed to the newly-formed ST) on the radio this morning reckoned that, while the current owner has agreed to waive his loan of Â£1.7m+ if a new owner can be found, he has blocked outward transfers of two players which would have solved the immediate cashflow crisis; also said that the average player salary (whether paid or not) is Â£20k per month and "wouldn't it have been nice if they'd dipped their hands in their own pockets to pay the backroom staff in December when the club had no cash with which to pay them....?"
