No EPL or Championship games, and very few EFL ones, that day so my supposition is that the BBC think they will get a bigger audience at that time than their usual 12.30.
It won't encourage a lot of away fans to come though... but presumably the tv money outweighs that..

I get why it isn't a 12.30 KO as it's a trek from the North East, but what's up with it being 3pm?????

Last time I looked we were in the Midlands. I think a tie in an earlier round taking place in Kent was shown on the BBC

They get around 1000 at home games and probably no more than 100 would have travelled down. The 2 grand we get will offset any reduction in this number and hopefully we'll get a
in the region of 1500 for this game.

Biggleswade v Alfreton in the FA Cup 3rd qualifying round has not yet been played (due tonight). If a reply is required it won’t be played in time for their 4th qualifying round to take place on Saturday…
