Byfield's certainly putting his faith in those who played for him at Walsall Wood. It's looking like one of two scenarios playing out at Alvechurch:
1. the players step up with ease, thus proving how much some of those players were selling themselves short at step 5 (££££ perhaps?)
or 2. Byfield proves himself to be the reincarnation of Paul Casey with too many 'step fivers' at step three and they find themselves uncompetitive

I'd bet more on scenario 2 than scenario 1 at the moment having seen some of his signings at this level before. If I were an Alvechurch fan, coming off their most successful season in donkeys years, I wouldn't be too impressed

I’m all for giving lads a chance but there’s a big gap from Midland League Division 3 (yes, three) to SPLC.

Benbow joins Nuneaton

Big signing that. I would say a statement of intent from Boro, but they've also signed Romario Martin, so...
As for Stour, they've lost a lot of their established stars in quick succession- that's Benbow, Broadhurst and RTB all in a week, all to league rivals

According to this, it was expiring this summer anyway:
http://nonleague.pitchero.com/headlines/carry-evo-stik/

Bostik UK – who own the Evo-Stik brand – are pulling their sponsorship from all divisions as the Isthmian League have confirmed Bostik won’t be their sponsor next year either
http://www.isthmian.co.uk/news-from-the ... awar-57378

No word from the NPL empire as yet about how it affects them, although it obviously will

That means steps 1 to 4 will all have new titles for next season with Vanarama becoming Motorama at steps 1 and 2. The pace of change in non-league football these days - on and off the pitch - is absolutely crackers!
