6 minutes into his debut and Dan Turner scores a penalty. That takes some balls and some convincing to be allowed to take it so soon after signing!

Kyle Perry a NLN player again? Is it April 1st already?
I'd forgotten where he is when I just saw this...

Things are looking up. A headed assist and a rare win on Saturday...

Andy Bell (and his dad Norman - one for the old 'uns there) running an Anglo-Indian football education academy these days

https://www.kifafootball.com/about-kifa

Some great goals for us in our 2005 promotion year - he scored 4 against King’s Lynn at KP despite being ill on the morning of the game and was only rated as 50/50 to play. Him and Leon McSweeney were a joy to watch up front that year

Michael McGrath sent off for Kettering at Leamington tonight. Brakes’ Twitter says he “hit” the ref which is a complete exaggeration, as you can see from the video on the replies:

Anyway Leamington 3-0 up at half time and the lights have gone out. This after the game was switched earlier today when Kettering’s pitch failed an inspection.

Update: Second half kicks off at 22:30 and finishes 3-0. Kettering have a further two players sent off and end the game with 8 players. (And the tweet above has now been deleted).

Used to love Norman Bell. Interesting life after playing, worked in sales, with young offenders and now this.

And I'm officially an old 'un then?

A piece on Mark Hallam from the Southern League website:

https://southern-football-league.co.uk/ ... ark-Hallam

I thought he had two separate spells at the Cross Keys? I remember one ‘supporter’ who stood at the Cross Keys end of the ground who absolutely hated him and spent games singling him out for particular criticism. I think he scored a couple against us for Tamworth a few years later and was very happy about it

He also turned in an outstanding performance for Gloucester when they beat us at our place in the season that we won promotion to the Conference.

One HTFC ex-manager remarked that he "couldn't trap a bag of sand"

Still oozing class. Only his last three passes didn't find a team-mate, maybe that's why he was hooked late on?!

AN interesting read. I seem to remember Brinner also playing for our youth team (I think he played in the FA youth cup tie v Liverpool which attracted over (crows) 1500). This may have been before he went to Cashtown.

Like the BBC a. know about anything beyond League 2 and b. care about anything beyond League 2

Another reminder of how quickly time skips by. I remember Ash making his full debut at Hinckley’s old ground on the evening of 9/11 - twenty years ago later this year.

These are briilliant and a good read for all non league especially at this time. Takes me back decades of watching Hednesford. Worked and played with Vern Allott. Even see my old mate Micky Taylor getting coverage from his long time in the game.
