Desperate isn't it.
And there was us all impressed when they came with Gazza as manager....
(well, not really...

Shame that stadium isn't going to be built - looks nice - maybe Coventry could take it over...
Coventry (who, as they're just saying on talkSPORT, were once a superbly-run, trailblazing club) to groundshare at Northampton then...

Unbelievable... or should I say Cobblers...

Another club that has run before it can walk. Even if they survive they will limp on for years going through the same boom and bust cycle (unless they learn from this experience)

.. speaking of which I hear that Rushden & Diamonds' winding-up petition on Kettering has been dismissed, leaving them to limp on for a few more weeks/months

AFC Wombourne have folded in what has been described in the local press as "a blow to non-league football in South Staffordshire"
they were ground sharing with AFC Wulfrunians and played in Div 1 of the WML
The article I read said that a cash injection of £5K would have enabled them to continue
They were formed in 2007

Like you. Perton, I live within 5 miles of Wombourne and I have never heard of them.
On the face of it you'd think that some local benefactor could have stumped up a few (thousand) quid to keep them going (the local cricket clubs - Wombourne and Himley - both play, albeit they're near the bottom of, the Bham + District Premier Cricket League and are very well supported by local businesses) but one wonders how many people "supported" them and thus if it was ever a really viable proposition. Other non-league and League One clubs are available in the area...

Coventry Cobblers it is then

That's a very interesting comment about "... clubs should play in the towns or cities that bear their name"
Don't anyone tell Grimsby if they get back into the league...

Loving that last para!
There's only one place you'll find "real football, real fans", and that's non-league football

Coventry's future still in a parlous state....
Let's sort out the most important things first though....

Football League email arrives. Update on Coventry City groundshare row? No, they have a new official pizza partner!
My reply on receiving said Tweet from the FL:
@football_league Every football league should have a pizza partner. For pity's sake....

I think they start the new season - if they do - on minus 15 points
Desperate isn't it...

Latest on CCFC

Someone will write a book about it one day; and even though I used to be quite expert on Company Insolvency, I won't understand it.... or how they managed to sell Highfield Road without taking any financial stake in the Ricoh, or indeed earn anything from playing there apart from ticket sales and their own merchandise.
Or, indeed, why over 200 CCFC fans were daft enough to buy season-tickets to watch them play at Sixfields - a Coventry fan who lives in Northampton was on the radio about an hour ago saying he wouldn't go to watch them there, he enjoys his 88-mile round trip to the Ricoh!!
