I read somewhere that Worksop are looking to offload their big earners and operate on a much reduced budget next season. THeir owner has realised that after 2 years of throwing money at it he is wasting his time - had they got promotion I wonder if he would have seen things differently. In my view I can't see what he was hoping to achieve. Had they gone up they would have been playing better teams in front of the same amount of (crows) and still shelling out big wages. Maybe he realised that he had no real plan for he club.
The next Eastwood perhaps? He does have a duty not to allow the club to end up in a worse state than wen he took it over

Even with a tax bill of £400K, Worcester should clear £2.5M from the sale of their ground to enable them to set up a new home. Surely they should be able to construct something to CN standard with that amount of money.

If the club does fold for whatever reason then the fans of Worcester will want to know where the £2.5M is going

Everyone would like to think that their club could draw in 2% of the local population, but nowadays that is a pipe dream for many clubs

Oh dear. Timing seems to be the major issue.

Don't think I'll invest in a season ticket for 2017-18 just yet

They must be very envious of what the Rugby club have achieved across at Six Ways...

Meanwhile, cricket in Worcester would also be a good idea...

'twas ever thus...

As you know, I'm afraid we have no sympathy.

"Cheats never prosper", as someone once said, though there are still plenty of exceptions to that...

Scathing criticism for the old regime which oversaw massive on-field success, but with severe consequences. Although I agree with the sentiment of the comments in the article, I don't remember anyone raising the alarm bells whilst they achieving promotion after promotion and i don't hear anyone in authority drawing parallels with what is going on at the likes of Fylde where the bubble will no doubt burst one day (as it did at the likes of Hornchurch who were virtually full-time when we played them in the trophy some years ago).

It is easy to be wise with hindsight, but the fans of clubs close to these kinds of issues surely aren't that green that such events come as a total surprise - we saw it coming at Truro and Hornchurch!

Far more important than the future destiny of CCFC

It's so bad it's untrue (not just because it's Truro). I'd like to know how any club at this level can run up such huge debts. I'm not sure what the rules are, but it's high time that clubs had their finances regularly audited to prevent things getting out of hand.

The creditors must have a screw loose by the way to accept / put up with this

It's an absolute disgrace and I agree entirely

Remembering that when Pompey first went into administration it was local businesses like the butcher and the florist who suffered, I sincerely hope (vindictive, me?!) that Truro can't find anyone to print their programmes, supply their food/drink/club souvenirs etc etc
