You can't really blame him can you, the outlook is hardly optimistic
Just picked up from WPL on Twitter that Llanelli named three subs for a recent game at Bala but none of them were actually on the bench - or indeed at the ground

Funny old game isn't it.... though maybe it's a sprat to catch a mackerel as they may ultimately get their money back, and more

Something similar happened in S-o-T when Vale were in the mire didn't it... have lost track but I think the City Council said no last time around?

Swindon considering entering administration now. A good example of a club living beyond its means and then looking for ways to avoiding their financial commitments.

Crazy.

How can any club be allowed to go into administration for a third time?

Two strikes and you're out as far as I'm concerned

... and by the way, Bristol Rovers have provisionally agreed to sell their present ground to Sainsburys so that they can build a new 21700-capacity stadium

Why on earth do they need or want one that big? (Darlington Arena, anyone?!)

David Conn of the Guardian just on talkSPORT discussing the revelation that the 72 Football League clubs have combined debts of £1bn....

"The Championship is a financial black hole...."

Alarming.... and indeed you'd think that all clubs struggling near the foot of the Premier League would be busting a gut to avoid relegation....

Here we go again.......

CHESTER FC are forecasting a loss of between £65,000 and £70,000 this season. Supporters were told the club had cut its playing budget and was trying to renegotiate some commercial contracts in an attempt to balance the books.
Mr Durkin, who only took up his post as chairman on December 4, described his first two months in the role as a “whirlwind” during last night’s City Fans United (CFU) meeting.
He said the new board had undertaken an in-depth review of the club’s financial and commercial position since being elected.
“What we found was the club was not on track, nowhere near in fact,” he said.
Mr Durkin reassured CFU members the club was now on top of the situation and taking steps to reduce costs and bring in additional revenue.
“What we need to do and what we are doing is getting our house in order.,” he said.
He added the forecast loss could be attributed to increased player and staff costs, under-performing commercial contracts and some financial irregularities the club had uncovered.
But the club had already improved its financial controls and was continuing to try to make further savings, he said.
“On a positive note, we are still debt free and that will still be the case,” said Mr Durkin, although he said any loss would eat into the club’s reserves.
Mr Durkin also praised Blues manager Neil Young for the way he had handled the playing budget cut, revealing Sean Clancy, Robbie Booth, Levi Mackin and Luke Denson had all been allowed to leave to reduce the club’s wage bill.
“There is no money available at the moment for new players,” he said.
Vice-chairman Steve Ashton said the new board had spent the past 60 days carrying out due diligence around the club.
He outlined the significant progress made since 2010 but said the club now faced its “biggest challenge yet”.
Mr Ashton said the club needed to increase income, make greater use of volunteers and grow its fan base and the new board had already started work on achieving this.
Figures sent to CFU members in November revealed the club lost £2,970 in the last financial year.
The club posted a £107,626 profit in its first season, although that figure included money pledged by supporters to help start the club

On the gates they get they should be able to run the club half decently. They appeared to be spending huge money on players last season and it looks like it's caught up with them.

They'll probably get into the Conf Nat then go bust attemping to remain at that level.

It seems that someone has fleeced their Social Club/bars for around £20,000.
Police are investigating financial irregularities and have arrested someone on suspicion.

...another club that doesn't own its ground! Bit of a theme emerging...

Evan allowing for the drop in income of £200K due to falling attendances the club is clearly being run on an unsustainable basis. I wonder what their break even figure for attendances is?

Average gates of 6000 for league two clubs is the norm rather than the exception (and some would kill for that level of support)

How on earth can the size of the losses come as a shock, assuming proper financial controls are in place and regular management accounts are being produced??

Staggering. After my 18+ year career working for one (before they slightly lost the plot), I can assure you that this would never happen in a bank....
