a) Strangers will escape relegation if the NPL season is declared null and void

b) Whether the season resumes or not, Nuneaton are surely in deep doo-doo, with some of their players contracted at crazy wages... (as an aside, I hear Blose are asking those of their players who are on over £6k per week to take a 50% wage cut - so presumably if you're "only" on £5k per week you get paid in full, but if you're on £6002 per week you get £3001. You know it makes sense... )

I read that as all receive first £5k or what limit is agreed then above that if at all the 50% deferred applies- anyone on £5k a week could donate the full amount above that to a food bank in my opinion

Barrow will sue if their season is annulled. Their Chairman was on the radio earlier saying how much they've already invested in bringing their ground up to scratch to meet EFL requirements... Harrogate pretty miffed too, at the prospect...

Acknowledging that there are issues with player contracts, my solution (which I gather isn't original) is/was to complete this season whenever it's possible, then next season just play each team once rather than twice so that by Summer 2022 we're back where we should be. But the FA knows best, of course...

I’ve broken the news to my lad that his 4 goals from 12 appearances in a holding midfield role also won’t count. He kept telling me that holding midfielders with a goal every 3 games in the PL would command a 30 million price tag.

Here's my radical answer, posted on the Southern Central Facebook page, I am expecting a bit of flak.

Step 3 down split all the Leagues next season in half geographically, bring clubs up from the level below to make up numbers, that way promotion is in effect achieved. Then at the end of next season based on where you finish you will either get promoted, stay at the level you are at or drop back down again, would create a lot interest.
So next season you would have eight leagues at step 3, 16 at step 4 etc etc.

South Shields Chairman on Five Live having a proper rant (and rightly so), and David Haythornthwaite at Flyde says the FA "have been shambolic...

A bit like his team this season then...
