Why would you pull the gentleman up on "play-off" and not "semi-final?"

I thought that Matthews was based in the North West so unless he has relocated he has let himself in for a lot of traveling.

Rather like "travelling difficulties" and "parted company by mutual consent", "work commitments" seems to mean something different in football to what it does in the real world...

Tom James staying with Brakes for their NLN campaign

As Lee and I pointed out in an exchange of texts after Sam Hornby's move to Vale, there appear to be an awful lot of players who weren't (considered) good enough for us who are now playing at a higher level in the pyramid - I'm sure someone with time on their hands could compile at least an eleven...

Here you go, I've started for you... just fill in the gaps....

Sam Hornby

Ashley Williams (although, to be fair, he did move up the pyramid from us, but Barry Powell didn't rate him!)

Tom James

Robbie Thompson-Brown
James McQuilkin

Ahmed Obeng

Possibles for inclusion, debatable whether we let them go because they weren't (considered) good enough for us, or just loans ended, or indeed they were genuinely awful for us...

George Forsyth; Matt Regan; Bohan Dixon; Courtney Wildin; Paul Ennis (? - I've lost track of where he is now...)

There must be more....

Would like to hear his real reasons then, something must be wrong as that's not a positive looking move on paper, surely?

A bit of plain and simple honesty would make a refreshing change.

There's so much that we don't know which goes on behind the scenes.

Suffice to say that, although they're three levels below us (or so it said earlier on this thread), they're assembling a squad and management team all of whom have experience at a higher level.

Money may be involved, I don't know....

With so many of the players who were in the first team at the end of last season starting the next 3 levels below it shows you how inadequate the rebuilding of the squad was post McDonald's pillaging

Old news now but only just spotted it, George Carline made his England C debut (at right-back!) early in June...

They'll start at 3 levels below but that's a lower level than they should be playing.
