Nah, just the next episode in an ongoing one, despite the FA Trophy money

God bless my mate Andrew the welsh-prem.com webmaster, who can never write a story about Airbus without using "landing", "flying" or "winging in"....

Puzzled by this.A club has to have a minimum agreed lease acceptable to the League. Was this not subject of specific intervention and sanction at the start of the season by the League?Would assume that anyone holding a charge over the property and indeed the owner to have been party to such agreement which was accepted by the League. So how can the immediate occupancy of the ground be at risk by reason of a third party who would be bound by those arrangements.Surely notice is likely to take effect at the end of the agreed arrangement(possibly end of season.)I would only see an immediate problem if above is right and if payments to the Landlord/owner are not being met in which case are we witnessing another Truro? Although the fans deserve better I have to say the League need to pro-actively sort this out.

No not a Truro, it's another Northwich Victoria, this happens year after year at Northwich and my heartfelt sympathy lies with all their fans.

A lot us have been half joking all season that they would blow up in some way by Christmas and sad to say we weren't far wrong.

Terry Mc may prove me wrong but I would think a minimum agreed lease would only apply if you were groundsharing at another club. I seem to remember they had to clear some debt at the start of the season before the administrators would allow them to play there, sure that's why the Kendal game was postponed, but as long as they did that they were OK.

More specifically by another 'Truro' I mean that there were rumours of financial problems relating to Truro well before they gained promotion. Details did not emerge until after promotion which clearly indicate they secured promotion assisted by not paying Revenue and Customs and possibly others. Here I am suggesting that it is potentially a similar case unless robust enquiry is made by the League as I cannot understand why the immediate occupancy of the ground by Northwich is in doubt if as expected proper documentation is in place vetted and agreed by the League unless there are problems with current payments to the owner.Another Truro then if this is not investigated properly???

Well it looks like a year long lease signed after their licence was deemed not sufficient security of tenure and after first game was called off by League was not robust enough to bind the third party!! They are likely to be out by the weekend unless legal action can buy them more time.Plans for the owner of the club to buy the ground/land had fallen through some time ago.So much for the League intervention. May be they can ground share on emergency basis. As I said Truro re-visited.

This saga poses a few questions which probably can't be answered at the moment:-

Who, in the current climate, would want to buy a football stadium (presumably they want to build on it?)?

Is there a covenant on the ground which prevents it from being used for anything other than sporting related activities?

Have Vics been paying their bills / rent? If not, then I have little sympathy with the owner (obviously been concerned with on-field activities a little too much) but a huge amount with the fans.

Will the departure of Preece et al see a player exodus to Airbus?

Will Vics be in a position to fulfil their fixtures?

Will the league allow them to?

A bit of a mess, but the club are becoming another running joke alongside the likes of Darlo - it's the fans I feel sorry for!

On a different note, maybe somewhat irritating but adverts in between posts is a potential way to generate incone for SA?

Rumours are abounding that the Vics will play some home matches at a local rugby ground

A choice of threads (several of which are about Vics) on which I could have posted this.... I wasn't aware until I heard [not giving it my undivided attention] an interview on talkSPORT this morning with a Huddersfield Town fan about shenanigans there relating to ground ownership - seems the guy who owns the ground bought it for £2 (and he also owns Huddersfield Giants RL) and the HTFC fans aren't happy

One thread here

http://downatthemac.proboards.com/index ... read=64183

and there are numerous others on their forum, if you'd like to dig

This fans' spokesman mentioned Stockport, Darlington, Coventry and Northwich as clubs with similar problems....

just when you thought from the league table that all was well at Huddersfield!
