Not sure if we can host this, with their support and our ground which doesn't even have a proper entrance despite the new wooden shed. So probably to be switched. Should be a good day out with potential for an upset, no worries if West lose.
Didn't think you could switch these days... time will tell...
In the extra preliminary round Macclesfield were drawn away to Wythenshawe Town but the game was switched to Macc:

I "think" they can only be switched for security or safety reasons or on police advice.
That was why the Wythenshawe v Macc game was changed (you read about the cheese sandwiches scandal??)
At West, down one side there's a 6 foot high fence you can see through and the entrance is a gap in a fence with a table and a garden shed where you pay.
Macc get upwards of 3,000 at home and have had some significant trouble at games. They'd only get around 180 tickets and there might be concerns about people turning up without tickets trying to get in (remember FC United at Keys Park?!)... Still, we'll see.

Thanks for illuminating me; and fair comment. From memory the "no switching" rule (as I thought it was) came about after Farnborough switched an Arsenal tie to Highbury many years ago, but like so many FA rules it must not apply to all clubs/levels... aha, I googled it and found this... https://www.theguardian.com/football/20 ... ory.sport1

More here https://www.derbyshiretimes.co.uk/sport ... ch-2962986

and/or look up rule 9 of the FA Cup rules and regs (it's a pdf so I can't post a link)

Every day's a school day! :)

All moot points as West are going to host the game, expecting a 1200 sell out. Robbie Savage was here on Tuesday to check West out. But first things first, Ashton Town in the Vase on Saturday.

West out of the Cup as well, lost 1-0 at home to Macclesfield. Really tight game and West had some decent chances, just lacked that clinical touch.

Macc have a team packed with ageing former pros (Neil Danns, Nicky Maynard, Luke Murphy), players from step 3 clubs and a Brazilian keeper on loan from Liverpool.

They brought a fair few fans and it was good to see the day go off well: record sell out of 1,340. Still in the Vase though.

All of yesterday's results here - whilst it's of little consolation, the Pitmen's wasn't the only shock result:

Second qualifying round draw:

Home tie for Long Eaton against Gainsborough. Big crowds expected for Leamington v Nuneaton, Hereford v Bromsgrove and Kiddy v Tamworth. Massive potential banana skin for Telford against Ca$htown as well.

Today's results here - and they even read them all out on talkSPORT, who now do a classified check (at about 1710) as Five Live don't, and go a lot further down the pyramid than they ever did!

Cracking result for Hanley!

Yes, and I was due to be going to the National League North game between Hereford and Peterborough Sports on Saturday 15th October which will now be postponed as both clubs have made it through to the 4th qualifying round.
