Sarcasm doesn't suit you - certainly I was hoping they would gain promotion, as local teams doing well are thin on the ground down here, though saying that ...... ooop north don't do so well sometimes either!!
You must have a very poor memory of how they cheated us out of promotion mate; like Salisbury (and Farnborough and one or two more) they are forever on our "not like" list (and I've put that politely)
No, of course I remember that fiasco .. but they are still one of a minute number of clubs within a 110 mile radius of me who could have made it into a higher league.
Now ... how many clubs do you have within that radius in a similar league or above?
Simple solution dear boy. Move house to God's country...
You're okay - I prefer the clean air and clean living down here!!

92 Braintree fans at Grimsby last night and 14 of their 16 players were back at work this morning.

I can't post the result as part of an hilarious exchange of texts with Lee this morning included the fact that he's trying to avoid finding out the result before he watches it as live....

:-D

So, the FA's solution to Cinderford refusing promotion is not to promote the next best team but, having fiddled about with about 6 other teams, to move Evesham from South to North, thus depriving them of numerous local derbies including Hereford and making their nearest game Romulus, 38 miles away.

Lee flagged this up on another thread last Friday but I didn't notice it.... https://www.southern-football-league.co ... -promotion

Bob Mills just did a super piece on this on TalkSPORT, prompting much ribaldry from muppets who don't care about the non-league game (or "the amateur game" as Colin Murray called it :x  (muppet) )

Evesham are appealing - lots of reaction here

... and as I've suggested here, the answer is of course a North/Midlands/South split

but we've only been saying that for 50+ years...

Not the rules mate, they have to reprieve the best placed higher level relegated side i.e. Stamford, that then means they have to do all that buggering about.
Know where you're coming from though.

Indeed. The rules need changing. Far too many clubs who should have been relegated have been reprieved because of the failures of others to meet assorted criteria, or in this case spending all season busting their guts to get promoted then deciding they don't want to. Crazy...

Cinderford striker Ethan Moore has signed for Gloucester and launched a scathing attack on his former club for not making its intentions clear earlier saying the players have felt that they have wasted their time. So, if they'd have said that they couldn't accept promotion earlier he wouldn't have bothered to put any effort in then? And as he is now playing two levels above the level Cinderford were promoted to, I don't know how that constitutes a waste of time! In a time when we are critical of clubs spending more than they can afford I think Cinderford deserve a little respect for the decision they have made.
Evesham's appeal is a waste of time though, I can't think of any other clubs who have successfully complained about a lateral move.
