So D-Day is now Thursday Oct 18th .......... and then ....??

http://www.thisiscornwall.co.uk/Truro-C ... story.html

QUOTE: Lee Hodges' City side were due to face Dover Athletic at Treyew Road today but that match was postponed early on Thursday evening.

The statement said: "To avoid the visiting club from incurring any unnecessary expense, and consuming much time, Saturday's fixture was postponed at 6.30pm on Thursday, well before Dover Athletic FC was due to commence its journey.

Don't think Dover see it that way!

Apparently the bidder pulled out via a text message this morning. They had until 12 today to pay the bond, looks like it hasn't been so now the Football Conference will deal with the matter.

When you read the financial timeline in this article you can't believe it was allowed to happen for how long it did: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20005762

Kept in touch via text messaging while I was away last week and I made the point, it was as well I couldn't get at the forum to post my thoughts, otherwise we might have run out of these....

... but lost again last night.

My bet is they will survive until the end of the season, if that, then get slung out

My spies tell me the Southern League (who invited them in) are meeting with Kettering today to see where that saga goes next...

SPL impose transfer embargo on Hearts - it will be lifted just before the transfer window re-opens

You know it makes sense... (yes, I know, there is a semblance of relevance in it....)

"A return to full-time training". Is that two nights a week or 'full time'. Seemingly the wage bill may not have been slashed just yet. Hope the new backers have deep pockets!

... and going off at a slight tangent, I noticed yesterday that the Express & Star billboard read "Bowens Travel Firm in crisis"

They used to transport the Villa team and fans all round this country and Europe (yes, really...), having taken over Flights Travel....

...and when I was HTFCSA Secretary they sent me their glossy brochure telling me they already had contracts with several non-league clubs and their fans (and were now based in Nottingham, which made me think they'd probably charge us more for coming to Keys Park to pick us up than the existing contractors do for the entire trip.... )

How does a club find iself owing HMRC £120K and being unable to pay??!! More poor organisation. The impact of falling gates is there to see so maybe they need to cut their cloth accordingly to playing in Conf Nat

That's a disgrace, comparing them with pub football.

Any pub team would be ashamed to be managed the way TFC have been
