King's Lynn appear to be belly-aching about gates not being at the 700 mark which they need to sustain their playing budget. their playing budget is quoted as £116K for the season (unusual for a club to put this in the public domain).
A break even figure of 700 is pretty ambitious this level of football (although they achieved it today)

I heard one of the players they hadn't paid didn't show up on the day, and they were banking on him playing to have a full team. I think it would have been too late to register a replacement in the build up to kick off - hence starting with 10 men.

The NPL set the precedent last year by breaking their own rules so it stands to reason that the Conference would do likewise. The meteoric rise of clubs like Truro does leave one wondering how they've managed it and clearly they done it by not paying HMRC which is inforgivable given the stick that individuals and businesses have been getting in the media over the last few monhts. Even now it seems that footy clubs still get sympathy from the sport's governing bodies when really they should be having the book thrown at them. It's even worse when innocent parties like DAFC lose out.

Time for the sport to get its house in order.

According to the Truro website it appears that their bid for survival has failed - players and management due to meet tomorrow morning at 9am

Local news at 6.00pm said Truro were saved for at least another 2 months - now at 8.00pm they say the deal has fallen through and the Club are to be expelled from the league.

There have been some crazy suggestions by non-league fans on twitter that every supporter of a non-league club around the UK should donate a £1 in order for Truro City to survive! While there also seems a massive uproar about them being kicked out and liquidated. At the end of the day they didn't play by the rules for years and now they have paid the consequences of that.

Their meteoric rise has been funded by tax evasion practices. As much as it galls me to say this, the best thing for them is to be kicked back to whence they came and if they can rise through the leagues by playing fairly then that's fine with me.

If anyone bails them out (including Cornwall County Council) then they will themselves, in my view, be condoning such practices

Utterly ridiculous.

Truro got some air-time in a 90-minute chat about Non League Day and NL football in general on talkSPORT today (about which I'll post on a separate thread). A Stourbridge fan expressed his sorrow at their (probable?) demise. But of course his club wasn't swindled ot of promotion by their cheating

Is this just the Conference's feeble attempt at fulfilling fixtyres and nothing else? Surely at the end of the season they must be expelled anyway otherwise another precedent will be set, i.e you can start the season in a mess, then see the situation deteriorate further until the league basically allows you to struggle on missing fixtures here and there which inconveniences everyone.

Will Dover be compensated out of the £50K if it is raised?
Will Truro be fined and / or have a points deduction for failing to fulfil a fixture?
Sour grapes aside, I think football has to make a stance soon as this is making last season's situation regarding Vics seem tame by comparison.

In Scotland there has been some talk of Rangers being stripped of honours. Would it be appropriate for Truro to be stripped of their various titles if it can be proven that they benefitted from their own sharp / illegal practices?
