Good news. What a shame it all got so silly when Reynolds built the White Elephant Arena

Listeners to WM will have heard the Redditch Chairman saying they're embarking on a £900k programme of ground improvements including a 3G pitch on which they will have 60 teams playing (including boys, girls, disabled, inclusive....) and the clubhouse brought up to "world class facilities"

Hitherto he has covered a loss of £40/50k pa and while he is prepared to invest in capital outlay (with Football Foundation funding agreed for the 3G pitch) he isn't prepared to cover weekly losses in future. The new facilities will improve income streams.

All makes sense to me, and they're on the verge of promotion to National League North too if they finish the season well...

Alvechurch table-top Midland Comb game v Hereford today is a 1500 sell-out, 600 home/900 away fans sold out within 2 days of the tickets going on sale

That's Plan B out if the window if our game is off...

Rugby v Daventry is off today, not because of the weather, but because they can't raise a team. I seem to remember them doing this for a league cup match and they were subsequently allowed to play the tie when they had got sufficient numbers (which can't be right).

Since when did Alvechurch have 600 fans?! More glory hunters coming out of the woodwork.

Thanks. Was a tad busy this morning but I make no excuses for unforgiveable factual error.

They'll be very glad they made it all-ticket and got the cash in the bank, regardless of how many can/can't make the rescheduled game (same comment applies to our £30-for-3-games tickets! ;) )

Lots of good PR for them on Radio WM this morning, interviews with the current club secretary and former player David Kelly.

Truro have also just had a 10-minute slot on TalkSPORT.

It would if it didn't say "interviews" - but yes, an Oxford comma might have helped

There may well be a vacancy on the proofreading team next season, hope you've got your CV ready...

;) :-D

There's always someone worse off....

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35959714

... and even than them - the manager of a very-minor-league team (in Essex I think) was on the radio earlier saying his team have lost all their games this season and are on minus 3 points for fielding an ineligible player!
