Yes, fantastic goal for Liam Francis. Strangers' play-off hopes hanging by a thread. Well done Liam!!

Francis scores a lot of goals - does he play in defence for them? Seems to have been their top scorer a couple of seasons back.

Indeed, and although he didn't score I imagine Alex Melbourne will be enjoying his trip back from Blyth more than he would have done if the game had ended a minute or two earlier

and more so than he did when he was in Blyth previously in a Strangers shirt. If my memory is correct I think they conceded 5

6-2 if you're referring to last season, but your memory's better than mine

Stourbridge are up there next Saturday, perhaps Alex would like to sign for them and journey up there again

Danny Glover was sent off for Stockport yesterday for what appears to be two yellow cards in the last five minutes, one for "some sort of kerfuffle" and the other presumably for voicing his displeasure to the referee at the award of a last-minute penalty to Lowestoft.

He's always been a decent goalscoring defender from what I remember. He scored two in one game for us against Windsor & Eton one season but lost them as their results were expunged after they folded.

Lewis Solly back at Stour again, he did in fact make yet another comeback appearance for them on Tuesday night in a goalkeeping emergency, must be pushing 40 now?

Just noticed from Twitter that Wayne Riley is live on S4C now, Bala v Airbus - est (crows) outnumbered by sheep, stroke of genius scheduling it opposite Liverpool v Man Utd!!

More good stuff on Ashley Williams

All managers make mistakes in their assessment of players but I wonder if Barry Powell has sleepless nights about Ash?!

Listening now... That Welsh accent is getting better every day

But it's pretty boring really (these "International weeks" are just a succession of slow news days aren't they, thank God for Zayn and Clarkson giving the world something to get excited about...)

Not happy with them suggesting that everything he's achieved is/was at Swansea, when he's already made the point several times that it's coming through from our level that has helped make him the man and the player he is. But then it is BBC Wales

Theo Stair scored for Leek today. He played full back for us and did OK, but then went to play for Hanley for a few seasons as a striker.

It's been interesting to watch from afar the 'progress' being made by El and also Ross Dyer. I think given Ross' age he might find himself in Conf North next season (wages may be a stumbling block for some clubs, but he may have to temper his expectations given the season that he's had) and El's future is now in the hands of a new manager who will have his own views.

Fortunately Liam Watson has already got a job otherwise Wrexham could have been hit by a wave of interlopers from Merseyside.
