Good spot. It's almost as if they're suggesting the police make things up. Surely not...Lee K wrote: ↑Thu Dec 10 2020 2:07 pmWalsall Wood’s response:Glyn wrote: ↑Wed Dec 09 2020 7:03 am Walsall Wood making the wrong kind of headlines...

I think that's what's called a "volte face"?
Lots more league suspensions too...

Graham and Ade's detailed reaction here - for non-Facebookers and in a nutshell it's costing them (personally) £20-30k per month while the club is getting nothing...

Re: Non-League News
I think that the club is very lucky to have two such dedicated and enthusiastic owners. THese losses can't be sustainable however, and I think that the leagues at this level should now be scrapped so as to mitigate the financial losses that will keep piling up. If this doesn't happen some clubs will ineviatably cease to exist.
We have to understand that there is no prospect of fans being able to attend games for a few months yet and so losses should now be cut as this crisis extends far beyond the playing side of things.
Noting what Marine are doing to raise money, I think the club needs to consider innovative ways to generate income.
Perhaps the club should seek suggestions?

That is genuinely so sad about Marine, super club, and a bit like Orient earlier in the season, they've seen their pot of gold snatched away through no fault of their own...
You can still get your half-and-half scarf though...

Also the loans aren’t worth it. Only kicks the can along the line and will end up costing the club more. Currently we receive furlough for some of our team (around 60% of the team as others don’t qualify), rate relief, and a very small contribution from the council.
So whilst we are forced shut, it’s costing us approx £20k-30k a month. As the clubs not reached self sustaining levels due to coronavirus restrictions, we are personally funding this.
Hence why we will not ask our fans to contribute.
We see it as handcuffs that seriously impact the club (and most other clubs too), which to date has so far been overlooked.
We are working with the council and government as closely as possible currently trying to find fair solutions for the club.
Also we try to keep the team motivated and fit so their ready for when we return.
The league agreed that they would involve us in all decisions moving forward when the league was paused. But since they have not spoken to us or asked our opinion. All statements are made without any involvement by our club.
Sad times but we battle on.
When we do return we hope we will be stronger than ever on and off the pitch.
Given yesterday’s announcements, I personally expect a revamped season or null and void. But until we are told we sit in a holding pattern.
One things for sure. Everyone around the club is missing football now.
