He's clearly a non-contract player with us, therefore he is entitled to dual register with a club in a different league and play for them when not required by us, and he hasn't featured much during pre-season so to get a game in before we start is ideal, isn't it?
This. Danny has been turning out for other teams for years now – he plays for the Butchers Arms in Stoke-On-Trent regularly and has done for years:

And a one-game spell at Alsager Town three years ago to get some match fitness:

I’d suspect he’s spoken to Gavin or Dan – two people he knows well from here - about getting some match time under his belt after the Barry game was cancelled. Nothing to see here, methinks

I didn't post originally to gain silly reactions either, just to inform. I fully expect this is for Danny to gain some much needed match fitness.

Would be nice to have had some official notification though but that's another ongoing story.

Couldn't agree more.

When a well-liked player returns to the club, disappears from the radar and turns up at another club, I think it is completely unreasonable that the fans would wonder what has happened.

I seem to be spending too much time on this forum reading of disagreements between club and fans, 99% of which could have been avoided with a simple one line communication, either on here or preferably on the official club website, by one of the club official employees.

A new season dawns - we should all be singing from the same song sheet by now or it is going to be a long hard winter.

Thanks for the apology Gaz but I'm afraid your first post cut too deep with a supporter of 58 years, for clarification on this speak to Terry Mc.
If you didn't know I was also official statto for the club until 30 minutes ago and was a founder member of the supporters association nine years ago. I have raised much money for the club over the years.
As this will also be the last ever post on the forum for me I would like to thank all my friends on here for the great banter we've had over the years.

Couldn't agree more.

Crowds are down to sub-200, the fans quite rightly raise issues such as wondering where a player has gone or wondering why the season ticket prices haven't been announced, and they are completely shot down! Then the forum is blamed for its negativity.

Engagement and positivity is key - if this comes from the club I bet that the crowds will rise.

This thread has now gone way off topic for various reasons, it is to discuss the current squad for the coming season and not for any Club v Fans jousting.

I am going to use my discretion and lock it - then start a new Squad topic for the use of all to discuss.

Finally - Keith, I am saddened to read your last post as you are a very good and one of my original friends at HTFC. We will remain friends and I would hope that at sometime you will reconsider your decision as you add great value to the club and the programme with all your HTFC knowledge, and you are a person the club can ill afford to lose.
I leave it in their hands to decide the future.

This thread will now be locked and a new one started.
Thank you
