Come on then folks, we'll be looking for fans to volunteer for lots of things over the next few months.... this is your chance to help your fellow fans who can't make the game tomorrow night, if you can't either.... let me know no later than 5pm tomorrow so that I can send you the texts and you can post them - I can restrict these to team news, goals, HT/FT and major incidents only (rather than the usual "virtual running commentary") if you wish!!Del wrote:Unlikely to be able to provide forum updates for this one - so if anyone else is free, then plaese carry on!

Willenhall Town 2-6 Hednesford Town
We were slow to start and went 1 down early on but got better as the half went on.After some wise words at half time we came out and played some good stuff and despite letting another in we were never in danger.
Good workout and hopefully all came through without injury.Good to see Danksy get a good run out and nice to see Campo on the scoresheet.
Well done lads.

It was a very entertaining game against a side who, despite the final scoreline, played much better than a bottom-of-the-MFA team would be expected to play.
It took us a while to get going but we managed the equaliser before half time and in the second half we were in total control and played some excellent football.
It was a useful match for players like Decio, Ben, Quinny and Danksy to get some game time and shows that we've got a quality squad.
Two lads from the youth team were given a run and both looked good on the ball. Some of our goals in the second half were quality.
It was my first visit to Noose Lane for a couple of years and my first since Sporting Khalsa FC bought the ground and it was a shame that the only reference to it being the home ground of Willenhall Town FC was a tiny sign by the turnstiles. I know they've played there for years but with no signs for passing folk to see how can anyone know that they still play there unless they take the trouble to find out in another way?

A game of two contrasting halves again.
With so many changes to the side it took time for the side to gel together not helped by Willenhall scoring with a free kick only two minutes into the game. Lee is right when saying Willenhall belied their League status and position and played extremely well for long periods during the first half and could and should have scored more. That said we held firm and Big Marv popped up with an injury time equaliser. Special mention I feel must go to Ajay Chohan who had a really good first half at left back and if it's right that this lad is only 16 I am certain he has a very bright future in the game.
Second half there was only us in it as the introduction of Campsta in his accustomed left back role changed the balance of the game. A succession of goals from Clemmo (pen) Campion (rifled in from edge box) Haynes (narrow angle strike inside the far post) Danks (blasted in from around 12 yards) and Durrell (powerful strike from edge of box) sealed victory for the Pitmen. The last half hour became shooting practice and the scoreline could easily have been more. Shame Quinny couldn't get a goal as I think this is what he needs to get him back on track. Also we had a good last 20mins from Armani Allen who I believe is still only 16 also (wouldn't like to come up against him when he has developed fully ).
All in all a good win and bring on Walsall (hopefully) in the next round.

Agreed entirely with the two previous posters (well, we stood together so I think we were bound to see the same game!)
If you take the first half of the Corby game and the second half of last night, we're on fire, and have tremendous strength in depth - let's overlook the 90+ minutes in between!
We played some truly coruscating football in the second half - and the lads had their own 'goal of the season' competition - shame Jon wasn't filming it!! - Kyle's, in particular, was a belter, and there was me shouting for him to square it....
Drapes was there and impressed with Clemmo - aren't we all! - yet another MoM performance, 7 goals in 7 games and even though it was (again) "only a penalty", the way he takes them no keeper is going to stop them!
Yeah, Quinny could do with a goal, but he went very close with one effort and won us the penalty which turned the game in our favour
Merit mark to the ref, although he insisted on giving a running commentary ("don't foul".... "well done..." etc etc, which does my head in) he got most decisions right - shame about the yellows for Danksy and Campsta, but I'm afraid yellow cards are just a fact of life these days
And yes, I wondered if I was at the right ground, with all the "Sporting Khalsa" signage - whoever owns it, it would be nice if they made some provision for those of us who want a hot drink and maybe even some hot food while we're watching the game, the lack of both was not appreciated...
