Bro alerts me to this which maybe belongs on the "clubs in crisis" thread.... MDT's manager has cleared off to Quorn and taken with him many of the players he brought with him from Hinckley...

Looks like they will be in the league before 2022. Their owner has incredibly deep pockets and quite a few clubs at their level are struggling financially. The ultimate rich man’s play thing,

Their owner has a desire for them to go on to bigger things fair play to him

I suspect the project will run into tens of millions in the not too distant future. The owner of Fleetwood has spent massive sums of his own money. I don't blame our owner for not doing the same as eventually you hit a wall and begin to wonder why you bothered. The Forest Green owner gas spent a vast amount of money and they sit 23rd in League Two.

The appetite isn't there to support heavy investment. We've only lost 1 of our last 11 games yet we still can't manage to get more than 400 through the turnstiles for most games.

I know Fylde's attendances were poor at their previous ground but they haven't just trebled their attendances by having a new stadium - the owner has worked tirelessly in the community for many years while the stadium was being built to advertise the new facility and get local businesses involved. I have been to Mill Farm and had lunch in the sports bar at the stadium and it's all very impressive. I used to dislike Fylde when they were playing in a field and spending all their money on the team but the whole package now deserves nothing but admiration and I hope they make it into the Football League before 2022.

You can't blame Steve Price for not having the ambition of David Haythornthwaite - his ambition is off the scale!

Nobody has blamed him and neither do I, but with just a little bit more investment we could be National North regulars and in turn I am certain that would cover costs.

As it stands now especially with the housing development I am extremely concerned for the club's long term future.

That's never going to happen. Clubs that flirt with that level, I.e. Histon, Hyde, Strangers etc have all bombed very quickly and ended up in Step 4 before you know it. Ferriby are going the same way. I'm happy at Step 3 with a decent tea challenging for the play-offs. Any more than that requires significant investment or big fgates.

I don't want us to go the way of Bromsgrove, Worcester etc.
