Re: Clubs in crisis
That stable door and all .The league management are unlikely to bar Northwich as they had already (secretly)decided that a 3 day licence to occupy was ok.So wait for the season long (or whatever length of term qualifies) ground share to emerge. There is still a mindset at all levels of football that it is not a problem to over spend or not pay the taxman. Even in NLP today Darlington were said to be upset that they were stopped from taking a loan player when their squad was not expecting to be paid until the end of the season. That sums it up doesn't it?

Re: Clubs in crisis
I remember when Kidder topped the Conference (as it then was, BBC please note it isn't called that any more) and were denied promotion because their ground didn't meet the criteria.
Much wailing and gnashing of teeth (I was living there at the time) but of course they'd only managed to finish top because the money they spent on the players should have been spent on the ground
If only football administrators always enforced the rules so rigidly...

From the Strangers forum - it is contended that Chorley are in financial strife of some kind. Unsubstantiated at this point obviously. Also it is reckoned that Marine's lights do not comply with Conf North requirements .

In non league paper last week they said marine needed £40,000 to replace dodgy floodlights ive also heard early in the season that chorley were short on cash but i believe good attendances have reduced their plight somewhatPerton Pitman wrote:From the Strangers forum - it is contended that Chorley are in financial strife of some kind. Chorley's financial difficulties should be alleviated when they can get their sell-out game with Chester on - maybe we should boycott our trip there to deprive them of the gate income? (only joking.... I think..... )

May be old news, but relevant given the league table and the scrap for play-off slots!

Aye, fair comment.Perton Pitman wrote:May be old news, but relevant given the league table and the scrap for play-off slots!
I'm sure that we can rely on both the NPL and the BSN to ensure that no club takes part in the play-offs which doesn't meet all the relevant criteria - so...
Vics - bust, no ground
Chorley - bust
Marine - ground not good enough
FCUM - no ground
BPA - football shouldn't be played on grounds with running tracks around them

Rangers expected to lay off 11 (first-team squad) playing staff today, and those players who remain and the management will be expected to take a 50% cut in their salariesGlyn wrote:

With an ever expanding number of clubs with financial difficulties all over the country in most leagues, how financially secure are hednesford being as vics and chorley have had major money troubles with similar attendances to keys park?

Re: Clubs in crisis
Without quoting figures Marc, our club is sensibly run with a realistic playing budget - and of course the efforts of both HTFCSA in boosting attendances and our Commercial Department in boosting income from the local business community have assuaged the extent to which we rely upon the club ChairmanMarcJ wrote:With an ever expanding number of clubs with financial difficulties all over the country in most leagues, how financially secure are hednesford being as vics and chorley have had major money troubles with similar attendances to keys park?

From a personal perspective I'd rather the club be competitive at this level on a reasonable financial footing than chasing Conf North whilst paying silly money out

Re: Clubs in crisis
News of redundancies at Rangers expected today
Portsmouth may well not survive the season
Stoke-on-Trent City Council seeking to appoint an administrator at Port Vale "to protect the public purse"
Birmingham City and Coventry City placed under a transfer for failing to file their accounts (no surprise at all, especially in the former case - and it's a bit late isn't it?! - maybe now we can see why they were bringing players in on "emergency loan" earlier this week....)
Good game. Don't panic...
