Re: Old Player Watch
Having browsed a couple of websites I have seen that we may be coming up against our former keeper Dave Parton next season who is expected to sign for Nantwich from Newcastle.
We’re on our way, we’re on our way, to the EFL, we’re on our way (26/01/24)

Good luck to Bails inevitable he would leave and inevitable where he would go.
As for Parton, I called his weaknesses after the first game of the season and was put down for it.

a) Heck, it didn't take you long to consign him to the old player thread!Part Time Pitman wrote:Good luck to Bails inevitable he would leave and inevitable where he would go.

He is fixed up elsewhere - hasn't said where, watch this space... good luck to him, he deserved a better chance than he got with us... but then that also applied to another young striker with us recently...Lee K wrote:Yes, get him training with us Liam!Glyn wrote:Charlie Anagho-Ntamark fit to resume next season after two years out with an ankle injury (we wondered where he'd gone!)
Still reckon he could do a job for us...

Perry has a dig at us "“It was an ugly experience (at Hednesford) and I was not enjoying it. It was not the right place for me.". The feeling's entirely mutual pal.

I've seen pictures of him from as recently as two years ago when he was in good shape.Jay wrote:Perry has a dig at us "“It was an ugly experience (at Hednesford) and I was not enjoying it. It was not the right place for me.". The feeling's entirely mutual pal.

Although we were told by sources close to the club that he was carrying a knock in the early part of last season, and would become a hero by the end of it, he was clearly out of shape and hence couldn't really complain when the fans were on his back as early as the Harrogate away game (or maybe earlier, I didn't see the PSF games when he couldn't get the number 9 shirt on); and his obsession with winding up opponents rather than concentrating on his own game was just silly for a man of his experience; that said, he was still our leading scorer for last season last time I looked, which just about sums up what an awful campaign it was
I'd have thought Heeley would be offering him a deal for next season based on his comments when he signed him... it will be interesting to see his stats for next term...

Perry's 'performance' away at Alfreton was up there with the worst I've ever seen at any level of football.

In all fairness it was a nightmare last season especially with the Frank debacle. He has spoken a lot of truth. Although Kyle was fat and useless.

Re: Old Player Watch
The biggest disappointment and perhaps a major factor in our relegation, was the lack of application, interest and commitment of our senior players. Kyle Perry came to us on very good wages ( so I gather) and instead of leading from the front he showed a distinct lack of mental strength. When things are going wrong players like Perry should step up and set the kind of example that Toddy did. However, he decided that this wasn't for him and he opted to sit on his contract with the big wages that come with it, thus allowing others (presumably on less money) to put themselves in the firing line.
It's been a while since we have had the misfortune to be saddled with a player with that mindset and I hope that we don't see it again.
His comments regarding us and Worcester aren't a surprise and we will see if they fall for the flannel he is spouting. If they don't, somebody will I dare say.

Awful 2nd half too but they'll all be playing in Europe next season of they stay with gap CQ.Glyn wrote:Dis, Crowther, Woolfe and Rushton all start for gap CQ against Airbus in the Europa League play-off.

The English language commentators were raving about the job Dis did on ex-Bucks striker Tony Gray... though I think I could have marked him out of the game today....
